7 C's Of Leadership Analysis
Amit Ray said in Mindfulness Meditation for Corporate Leadership and Management, “Leadership is not just some empty formulas but establishing deep connection at soul levels through service, integrity, passion, perseverance and equanimity.” That quote is one of my favorite quotes about leadership. It brings to light the notion that leadership is not cut and dry, but that there is many different components that make up a person’s leadership style. In the Montgomery Leadership Program, my cohorts and I have been learning different parts of what makes a leader. Two concepts that we have spent a few class periods leaning about is the 7 C’s of the Social Change Model of Leadership Development and the Leadership Theories. In the Montgomery Leadership …show more content…
Being conscious of self means being aware of the beliefs, values, attitudes, and emotions that motivates you to take action. I try to always be aware of who I am. Being a fellow in the Montgomery Leadership Program has enhanced my self-awareness. On one of our first days of class we had a journal asking, “What are my expectations for Montgomery Leadership Program and for this semester? What are my expectations for myself?” In that journal entry, I had to do a lot of looking into myself to answer this particular journal entry. I wrote in the journal that I hoped that this semester would be my best semester and that the Montgomery Leadership Program would help me become the leader I always hoped to become. The second part of the journal entry had me thinking a lot about what I expected for myself. After thinking for a while, I concluded that I expected myself to try my hardest and to be true to myself which included my beliefs, values, attitudes and emotions, so I could become the best leader …show more content…
Citizenship is described as the process the individual and the collaborative group becomes responsibly connected to the community and the society through the leadership development activity. In my first service log, I brought up how I felt speaking to the elderly residents at Claiborne. I felt by speaking with the residents I was becoming more connected to them and made them feel loved and cared about. When I was at Claiborne, I felt like I was part of their little community. I got to speak to them about how my classes were, and the elderly ladies told me about how they went to the salon that day and the ins and outs of the Claiborne. A big part of being a part of Montgomery Leadership Program is being a part of a group. When you are in a group, you need to collaborate. Collaboration is nothing more than working with others in a common effort. We had a journal entry asking us to discuss with our team group rules and why they are important. I believe this journal had a lot to do with collaboration between my group and me. Setting rules would help make collaborations within our group flow smoothly and let us have common effort. Also, setting rules will help set common goals for our group to

The company I currently work for is Henry Ford Health Systems West Bloomfield MI. And the President is Lynn Torossian. Lynn has only been with our company since December of 2013. Lynn has several leadership styles that have made a positive impact on me. One of the leadership styles that Lynn uses is Participative also known as democratic leadership style. While Lynn has the authority to make the final decision for the company she still values the input of the team members, peers and fellow employees of the hospital. Anther leadership style that Lynn uses is the Transformational leadership style. I have noticed that in the short period of time that Lynn is a motivator. She is always motivating us and sharing her vision of the future with us. Lynn also communicates very effectively with us through weekly news reports or via emails.…

According to Janda (1960), leadership is a term defined as a scientific discipline of power relationships where group members believe that other members of their group has the right to prescribe a particular behavior to others (Janda, 1960, p. 345-346). However, leadership is the consequence of the interaction of interpersonal relationships between members of a group that obey willingly and not forced to do so under pressure (Ivanova, Zivkovic, & Ivanov, 2011, p. 12756). Despite the contrary, most definitions of leadership differ in many respects; most reflect the assumption of a process that intentionally influences the guidance, facilitation and structured relationships of people in groups or organizations. Leadership…

According to Plato, leadership is not just a power or decision-making authority; it is the system and process developed to establish the culture and how things are done in an organization or government. The nature of leadership should be driven by what is right and what is just. Plato believed that a monarch who served the best interest of the citizens was preferred to direct democracies that act to serve their own personal interest. According to Plato, leaders should serve the good of the people and not the good of the rulers or themselves. Plato felt that good leaders could only be men wise in years with education and experience. A person leads based on their knowledge,…

I have learned that leadership is much more than being able to make business decisions and having a group of people under one’s supervision. Leadership is a multifaceted position that encompasses that an individual who is or wants to be a leader must have self-confidence, embrace adversity, have a support system and trusting one’s decisions. These underlying characteristics to possess leadership are some that I have now and some that I am constantly working on to gain and…

Clearly leadership skills are required and are important because the leader is the one who has the most responsibility, he is the one who gives the tasks out to his fellow team members and should help them if they struggle in a task. A person who has a good leadership is the one who can get tasks done in different ways, he is one who can change rules in order to do better, and another sign of a good leadership can also get his fellow team members to complete their objectives in new and innovative ways, and another sign of good leadership is that the leader can inspire and motivate others to work hard and do new things in different.…

Back in October of 2013, I toke this class and received a C+ now I’m taking it again, in 2013 under different circumstance I wasn’t prepared for this class, but this time around things are a little different. Now I am supposed to do a research depicting how different leadership theories apply to your chosen school setting. Things haven’t changed I’m choosing my school to write about while taking the course studies. Edith Robinson Christian Academy (ERCA) in Fort Lauderdale, Florida is a unique private school. (ERCA) proudly uses the slogan, “Love lives here.” In the simplest of terms, this is what Edith Robinson Christian Academy offers the at-risk-youth of Fort Lauderdale, Florida—children, teens, and young adults who may not often hear that they are valued, believed in, and loved. Driven by a philosophy that you can never give up on a child, Edith Robinson Christian Academy staff actively seeks out youth who have been thrown out of school, are unable to reach their full potential in a traditional school or are barred from other programs. This passionate organization helps them change their lives—and realize their full potential. I’m currently the owner but in 2013 I was the owner, Principal, teacher, cafeteria (cook), transportation, etc. whatever it took believe me I did it. Well this school year I have a staff; Principal, five teacher, two cafeteria worker, one security, two transportation driver, and myself the Director of Schools. The grade levels we deal with are from K though 12. In 2013 I we had to pick a leadership theory that best fits your program. I’m to pick a minimum of three different leadership article from Grand Canyon University elibrary. So this time around my position at the school hasn’t change, but I’m more so the true leader here and I have to have my staff understand the direction or vision I have for the…

Leadership is a term that can sometimes be casually tossed around without understanding what it truly entails. Leadership can be viewed as the person, a particular position, the influence a leader has on others, or by observable results (Banks & Ledbetter, 2003, p. 16). More than ever before, I feel as though the term leadership is becoming a focus in Churches, schools, corporations, organizations, government sectors, clubs, and teams. Why? People desire leaders to forester change, create efficient, encourage unity, and produce excellence. Leadership is a vast and powerful word that requires sacrifice, integrity,…

Everyone on this team was vested in the success of the project. I did not need to motivate them as a leader does. When…
