9 years ago I walked onto this campus for the first time hand in hand with my mom. Being only 5 years old, I had no clue regarding what would happen in the years to come. All I knew was in that moment, I was utterly terrified. Looking back on it now though, I had nothing to worry about. These past years have been eventful, exciting, and strange. I have formed new friendships, and left some behind as I’ve grown. I have been challenged in certain aspects of academics, and in social situations, but all of these have built me up into the person I am today. These past years have proved that. I still remember that feeling of being in 6th grade. It was out first chance to fit in with the older kids, and explore our new opportunities, although it all seemed like we were taking a huge step outside of elementary school. Then in 7th grade, more doors opened for us--- we could finally grasp the bigger picture, and start planning for the years to come. Although it was another big step, we felt more free, and mature now that we were with the upperclassmen, but we still felt like we had to prove ourselves to our teachers and to the 8th graders. We did have new opportunities and knew that new experiences would be coming our way. It didn't really hit us until the end of the school year to realize we were so close to highschool. Then, this year. We all felt kind of off. Our new friends from the previous year had already ventured off to highschool, and we subtly came to the realization that we now filled their space, we were the upperclassmen. It is clear that these past years have helped us realize new goals, and how to go about aiming for them. We really branched out, and solidified old bonds, while creating new ones, and I hope we can carry this skill into highschool with all the new older kids and opportunities that will be presented to
