A Narrative Essay On A Chicago Football Game
On Sunday I attended a Chicago Bears football game for the first time. They played against the Tennessee Titans, and it turned into an absolute thriller that came down to the very last play. Although they didn't win, I left the stadium with a smile on my face and a very sore throat. For three hours or so, I stood screaming, chanting, booing, laughing, and cheering as I watched my favorite team. Seeing the game in person is far different, and better, then watching it on t.v. The breeze coming off of the Lake Michigan coast made for a very chilly day as my eyes were locked on the field, with an enormous smile stamped to my face. The trip to Chicago itself got planned for visiting my brother and sister, however my mother surprised me with tickets to the game the day before our departure. On my first day up there I talked with my brother, sister and their mom for about an hour. I then ventured around the block to visit my cousins, aunt, …show more content…
We were a little early for the next show so we explored the theatre, and it was massive. Along with a theatre that is bigger than any we have, there was a bowling alley, a pool hall, and an entire arcade. This theatre was so massive it was on three levels and even had two sets of escalators! To pass the time while we waited, we all decided to play pool and just relax enjoying each others company. I only get to see them about once a year because they can’t travel and we usually don’t have time to go up there any more than once a year. When it’s time to say goodbye, no one says it, but I can tell by the solemn looks and extensive hugs that they do not want me to leave just yet. To make the departure easier, I just remind them of all the fun we're going to have next time I come to visit. This one simple statement brightens up the entire room and fills them with anticipation for what we can do the next time i venture back to the windy

The game is off to a slow start as both teams punt on there first possesion. I must say though, Len Dawson and Bart Starr are looking good. However both defenses aren't budging an inch, now the Packers are moving up field in this impressive second drive! Touchdown! Bart Starr throws to receiver Max McGee for the first score of the game. After a sucsessful field goal the Packers are up seven to nothing. The cheifs answer back moving the ball 66 yards in just six plays! Were all tied up seven to seven. But on the next drive Packers move the ball 73 yards downfield to take back the lead. The crowds roar in this coliseum is deafening, I can barely hear my own thoughts. Now, the Cheifs trying to get some momentum…

“Alright listen, we may not have won and we may not have been the best team out there today, but I’ll be damned if we didn’t play our hearts out every last minute of that game,” our captain said. “That’s all Day would have asked for and I say we did that pretty damn well.”…

Quite possibly the most significant time of my life was during my senior year as part of the Edison High School football team. The story of our 2006 season is a reflection of my life and testimony to my beliefs and values. Underdogs from day one, we represented not only our school, but also our community and families. Early expectations of the 2006 Eagles were low and the surrounding community was under the belief that Edison would be lucky to go 6-4 with the inexperienced players and the loss of such a talented senior class. Suddenly, I was starting as the outside linebacker/defensive end for the first time in my career along with 18 brand new starters. Unexpectedly, a green group of replacements were 5-0, half-way through our season. After…

At exactly 11:47 local time, the Chicago Cubs won the World Series that has eluded them for 108 years. Fans who packed bars to watch the games on television near Wrigley Field — neither of which existed back in 1908 — erupted in cheers before swarming onto the streets just before midnight Wednesday to celebrate in the shadows of the statues of Cubs greats Ernie Banks, Billy Williams, Ron Santo and legendary announcer Harry Caray.…

We got to Charlotte, parked, took a good look at each other faces full of eagerness and off we ventured into the private doors to the stadium seats. I remember walking out of the tunnel leading to our seats and the first thing I noticed, to my surprise, was a plethora of green and yellow. Of course there was more black and blue, but I don’t think either one of us expected that many Packer fans. I looked down at the perfect view I had in front of me. The bright green rectangle of fresh turf and huge screens on each side of the field to catch every minute detail amazed me. We were right in the middle of the field and far enough back to watch as each play unfolded. Being so anxious, we arrived 45 minutes before kick-off leaving us with nothing to do but go grab something to eat. We stepped up to the counter to take in the huge sign with a list of foods. I smelled popcorn and although tempting, I knew exactly what I wanted. “What are you getting?” Nick’s voice interrupted my thoughts of food. “The only thing I ever eat, pizza” I replied back truthfully. He bought my pizza and himself a huge double cheeseburger. After inhaling our food (my mother says we eat too quick), The Packers ran out unto the field for warm-ups. Nick and I both cheered and screamed while dirty looks came our direction from Panther fans. Nick laughed at me for immediately taking my phone out and snapping a million pictures but deep down inside I knew he was glad I was doing it so he wouldn’t have…

In the distance, a roar of the opposing crowd commenced as the band began to shout their fight song. The white jerseys swarmed together to celebrate, while faint shadows walked up the home stands and to their cars in disappointment. The pit in my stomach only got bigger as I thought about all that I had given this game whether it was the grueling track workouts every summer, the demanding practices, or the strenuous nine months of rehab I went through just to strap up my helmet again. It was at this moment - as the salty taste of my sweat and tears dripped into my mouth - that I knew how much I loved this game and how much I would miss everything about…

My dad has been a baseball fan for as long as I can remember. When 1:20 rolls around on Sunday afternoons, the television is declared my dad's for the mandatory Cubs game. Granted we weren’t obligated to watch the game, however, my older brother and I occasionally stuck around to watch. Overtime, this television snatching turned into an annoyance, most games are over three hours long, which greatly cut into my precious TV time on the weekends. I grew to hate the game because I found it long, boring, and filled with little action. Also, the only games my family watched were Cubs games and the Cubs have sucked since 1908. But like every good relationship it takes time for a bond to…

It was a chilly Thursday night at Arrowhead Stadium and the Kansas City Chiefs were playing the San Diego Chargers. The air smelled of hot dogs and sweat. My grandpa and I were sitting nine rows back on the 50 yard line, Chiefs’ side. There were punters, kickers, running backs, and wide receivers of both teams warming up on the field, and with kickoff nearing, my grandpa and I started getting anxious. With me being younger, I had just gotten done contemplating on whether or not to go to the game, or to go trick-or-treating. Although I missed out on Halloween, I will be forever thankful that I was able to attend the most exciting game I have ever been to.…

It was a crisp cold fall day at Lambeau field. I could see everything that was happening the whole entire time. The field was as green as a tree in the middle of Summer. The cold wind was whistling in my ear. The smell the hot dogs, burgers, and turf from the field filled my nose as the game begin. All I could hear were people cheering on the Packers and the jumbotron blaring, “Go pack go!” I could see the running back Eddie Lacy drive the ball into the end zone and everyone went wild. A mix people cheering and screaming filled my ears. After the opposing team returned the ball everyone started cheering, “Defense, defense, defense!” The watched the ball get intercepted and run down the field for another touchdown! The crowd roared and I got…

On October 2nd, 2015, Wasilla High School and Palmer High School have a football Potato Bowl game. This is the last football game of the year and its the rivalry game. Anyways that day I was with a couple of my friends and streaking got brought into conversation. And one of them suggested I did it at the potato bowl, and I agreed. So I called a couple of people and asked if they wanted to do it. One Palmer boy and one Colony boy said that they would do it with me, so I went to the store and bought red, blue, and green and white paint. The plan was to paint all of our bodies our school colors, with a white W, P and C on the all of our chests. As the night got later and time got closer to doing it, both of the boys chickened out. Everyone after that started saying I wasn't gonna do it, and doubting me. Im the type of person who doesn't like getting told to do, and when kids are telling me Im not gonna do something, I have to. Im a daredevil. So you can probably guess what I did that night.…

Good Evening Mr. Forrest, this is Sean Anderson. I wanted to send this report involving the girl's basketball coach from Northeast Middle School. Me and Jason Collins were the officials at West Creek Middle School vs Northeast Middle School. The games started at 4:45. During the second game, which was the girl's basketball game, my partner Jason Collins made a ruling against Northeast in the 4th quarter. The girl's head coach did not like the ruling and venting her frustrations toward us. She screamed" her player was not there for the foul". While I was administering the free throws I heard her screaming and gave her the stop sign signal and told her ok that's enough. I didn't administer no technical foul even though she continue…
