He told me he had been looking for me for several weeks, ever since stopping at my town to visit several merchants, and overhearing the story of a small boy who could start fires just by imagining them. During his travels, he told me that he often came across orphans or abandoned children with special talents, and these children, he took to a special orphanage, much like the academy, except instead of being taught the skills to become a knight as you were, they taught the children the skills to become mages. It was there that my education in the art of magic began.
It wasn’t long before the instructors noticed that excelled at my vocation beyond all others at the school, and I became their most gifted and treasured student. When my mage instructor displayed a spell, I successfully performed it on my first try, and easily repeated it thereafter. However, I soon grew bored with their limited teachings, and dove into the art of the forbidden, black or if you prefer, dark magic.
