Abortion : Another Name for Murder
Abortion : Another Name for Murder Every day, an overwhelming amount of human beings’ lives are terminated. The culprit: unwanted pregnancies. So what is one to do when they discover that they’re pregnant? They have some alternatives: (1) have the child and raise it (2) have the child, then give it up for adoption (3) get an abortion. Sadly, many women choose alternative three. A mother kills her baby because it is unwanted, yet she is not charged with murder. Is this right? It is wrong to kill something that has an undoubtedly possible future. This has happened more than twenty-million times in the past twenty years. The problem is that they have been killed legally because of abortion. Many people approve of the termination of a fetus because they consider that its not an individual human until birth. Abortion is wrong and it shouldn't be legal. A common argument is that abortion isn’t murder because the baby isn’t alive, but on the contrary, life begins at conception. After eighteen days, the heart is formed. After twenty, the brain, spinal cord, and nervous system are developing. A mere four days later, the heart starts beating. If a doctor killed a baby one minute after it were born, they would be charged with murder. But if they were to kill a baby one minute before it were born, and a minute before that and so on, they would not be considered a murderer. At what minute can one consider life worthless and the next precious? The fetus has a right to life and a right to the possibilities of it’s future. Therefore abortion, the massacre of this fetus, would be morally wrong. Clearly every human being that has hopes for their future and the futures of their offspring should argue that no fetus should be denied what they are morally granted. They are offered a life full of opportunities, events, happiness, and discoveries. Without demanding that abortion shouldn’t continue, and that it is wrong, ignorantly a doctor could abort a fetus that was meant to be a future President of the United States, or the one individual that would head the findings of a cure for cancer. As you live your life day to day you realize anything is possible. You don’t wake up in the morning knowledgeable of every experience and relationship that you will come into contact with in that day. So with ignorance not being an acceptable excuse, human beings shouldn’t continue to believe that they have the right to chose which fetus shall grow to full term and have a future and which fetus should be injected with a saline solution and burnt beyond recognition and dismissed as never entering the world. People also argue that a woman has the right to control her body and has the right to an abortion, but the fetus is a completely different life. Just because the unborn is dependent on the mother for nine months does not give anyone the right to end it's life. Is abortion murder though? According to the Webster Dictionary, abortion is to terminate a pregnancy because the baby is not capable of living. Murder is to kill another human being. A human being is defined as a member of the species Homo sapiens, which includes embryos, fetuses, adults, and everyone with similar genetic coding. Therefore, if a baby is viable, then it’s murder, not abortion, because abortion is when the baby isn’t capable of living. I hope that I have at least brought you to some understanding that a human fetus is a living individual. It should be remembered that a death occurs every time an abortion is performed--the death of an unborn child. Hopefully in the future, more people will be aware of the cruelty of abortion and the numbers will drop. Instead, try single-parenting or giving him/her up for adoption. There are currently 400,000 couples in America trying to adopt. Keep others aware of this horrible procedure. Spare a life.

The Women's Rights Movement, which began in 1848 and ended only in 1998, has entitled the women of our society to various rights. Among these, was the right to have control over their body. Considering this, many would point out that terminating a pregnancy is done so within the rights of the woman, and is therefore completely acceptable. If a baby is not a 'baby' at all, but merely a part of its mother's body, surely it is her choice whether it should live or die!…

The debate over whether abortion should be legal and to what point in the pregnancy it should be allowed has polarized many societies. Many religious preach that at the moment of conception, the new life is human and possesses a soul. Therefore, abortion is murder. Other, less extreme views, suggest the life is not human until there is a recognizable "completion of form." A third view proposes we have an obligation to create a good life for all children already born before we bring more unwanted children into the world.…

Abortion is a term used for the termination of the pregnancy by removing of the embryo or the fetus from the uterus of a woman. The abortion takes place in two ways. It can be induced abortion or it can be spontaneous abortion. In the induced abortion, the pregnancy is aborted intentionally, but the spontaneous abortion take place of its own due to some natural or accidental reasons. But whatever be the reason, the word abortion is always a burning issue in the society and politics. In the United States, abortions were legalized after the case Roe v. Wade, 1973 ruled that laws banning abortion were unconstitutional. Since then, groups supporting the right to abortion (“pro choice”) and groups against abortion (“pro life”) have continued to have ideological battles over which argument should be the law of the land. However, a woman is best capable of deciding whether or not she is able and willing to care for a child. Thus, she should similarly be able to decide whether or not she wishes to terminate an unwanted pregnancy.…

Is Abortion really murder. Give about 266 days after conception and see what emerges from the womb. It will be a human baby, not a horse, a fish or an honey badger. When a human egg and sperm unite, the result is a fetus. Within 3 week you can hear a heartbeat. At 4 weeks you are able to pick out facial features, arms and legs. Nerves and brain waves are in place by eight weeks after conception. At 12 weeks breathing of fluid for oxygen. So is this a fetus or a human? That is still up to interpretation. Legal rights have stepped in but, yet they are broken all the time.…

Everyday, innocent, harmless fetuses that could soon be laughing children are being brutally destroyed. One form of abortion is to cut the fetus into pieces with serrated forceps before being removed, piece by piece from the uterus by suction with a vacuum aspirator. Another form consists of bringing the fetus feet first into the birth canal, puncturing its skull with a sharp instrument and sucking out the brain tissue. The body parts, such as the head, are given letters, rather than refer to the parts as what they are. In my opinion this is for the doctors who cannot face the reality of what they are doing. The remains of the fetus or embryo, as the case may be, are put into everyday, plastic buckets and then sent to a dumpster where these precious bones and limbs are disposed. However, how and when an abortion takes place are matters of little importance to pro- abortionists and other defenders. Even former abortion practitioners from varying backgrounds and religions have a new view on abortion. These changes of heart were caused by psychological, religious and scientific reasons. One doctor, Dr. Bernard Nathanson, performed 60,000 abortions and supervised 10,000, before scientific evidence and the use of an ultrasound, convinced him he was promoting and participating what he now calls "the most atrocious holocaust in the history of the United States." Other doctors refuse to perform legal abortions, saying they should save lives rather than destroy…

Life starts when two reproductive cells unite. It is false to say that life begins when a baby is born. If they aren’t alive, then why do women kill them? Babies start as a tiny embryo, and they grow and grow. They are born, then they keep growing into an infant, and then a child, and then eventually an adult. The only difference between the embryo in the womb, and the adult lots and lots of nutrition and say 20 years time. “Abortion (is) murder (because) the being inside the mother is living. The definition of something living includes the ability to grow, which is exactly what is going on inside a woman who is pregnant. An abortion ceases the growing process, therefore ending the future life of a human being. This little being may not start off with a heartbeat or brain activity, but cells are still dividing and allowing it to grow.” (Ross,…

Abortion is a heavily debated issue in our country. Many people believe it is immoral and unethical, while some see it as a necessity. Whether the fetus is one or forty-five weeks old, many still see it as murder. At what point of the term of a woman’s pregnancy, is a fetus considered a human being? This issue is still up for further debate. The debate in regards to abortion stems from whether a woman should have the right to end her pregnancy or give birth. I personally do not believe in abortion, however, I also believe it is a woman’s right to make that decision, especially in situations regarding teen pregnancy, financial hardships, rape, and incest. The following paragraphs will describe these circumstances in greater detail, supporting why I support pro choice abortion rights.…

According to When Religion and Politics mix , “a fetus is a unborn human being, and it is morally wrong to take a human life; the unborn child's life must consequently be legally protected.” A woman should have the right to do what she wants to do with her body and her life, but not with another human being. According to Vieira, the baby is entitled to his or her rights to life and to have a chance in this world (Vieira 1). A baby should not have to lose his or her life because of the parents decisions. A baby is a human just like the mother and father. The parents are responsible for their own actions and should have to deal the consequences. The baby should not be punished because of his or her parents decision. If the mother does not want the baby, they should chose another option.…

Murder. Kill. Slaughter. Death. Abortion. On average, a person that has committed murder will spend 15 plus years in jail. According to www.weasalzippers.us since abortions was legalized in 1973 almost 50 million babies have been legally murdered and not one of those women has served any time in prison. Mother Teresa once said "We must not be surprised when we hear of murders, killings, of wars, or of hatred...If a mother can kill her own child, what is left but for us to kill each other?” Some points I will be discussing today are, when does life begin, the manipulation of pro-abortionists and abortion providing doctors in our society, and the inconvenience and financial burden of having a child.…

Life begins the moment the sperm enters an egg. Landrum B. Shettles who has his Ph.D. in biology said, “The zygote is human life….there is one fact that no one can deny; Human beings begin at conception.” Murder is defined as the unlawful premeditated killing of one human being by another. From this example, it should be clear that abortion should be classified as murder because you are making the choice to kill a life inside you. All in all, abortion should be illegal because it is…

Abortion is defined as: "the termination of pregnancy and expulsion of an embryo or of a fetus that is incapable of survival." However, if only the debate over the abortion issue was as simple as the definition provided above. Much like every aspect of human life, a statement is neither right nor wrong, but simply left open for interpretation. There is no black and white in life, only gray areas. Some issues tend to provide us more gray areas than others. Abortion is a prime example of that. Those who refute abortion claim that it is the murder of a helpless baby who has not yet had the chance to live and function as a human being. However, the debate opposite it is just as fervent: it is a woman 's right to choose what happens to her body, and if she decides that she is not capable of bringing a child into this world, than she shouldn 't be forced to out of nature. Where do we draw the line between humane and inhumane, necessitated death and murder? When does a woman 's right over her internal reproductive organs become that of the government 's? Is abortion wrong or is it right? Are rape, incest, and potential fatality to the mother exceptions when abortion is "okay"? Are there truly any at all? So many questions are raised by such a fervent debate, that we must look at both sides of the issue to better understand it in a general, but yet thorough approach.…

At some point in everyone’s life they have probably heard an argument or a commercial about the ethical dilemma of abortion. Since the historical 1973 Supreme Court ruling in Roe v. Wade, the discussion of a woman’s right to have an abortion has been one of the most contentious moral and political debates in America. The Court decided that a woman’s right to an abortion fell within the right to privacy, protected by the fourteenth amendment. The decision gave a woman total freedom and control of the pregnancy in the first trimester, and defined different levels of state interests for the second and third trimesters. The laws of 46 states were affected by the Court’s ruling. Despite this decision, the ethical and moral question still remains, when does a human life begin?…

The fetus’s potential of what it will be in the future (Lee 2015). Killing a fetus is killing an adult human being due to the potential of what it could be. According to this logic, killing an adult human being is wrong, therefore, it is wrong to kill a fetus. Killing an innocent person because their existence in the world would make the killer’s life miserable is homicide and can’t be justified (Lee 2015). A proposed way to look at it is, to kill our boss because he makes your life miserable and intolerable and you can’t find another job is not a justified reason to kill your boss(Lee 2015). In this example, your boss is the fetus and just because the fetus will make your life intolerable is not grounds for having an abortion (Lee 2015). To abort a fetus is the loss of that person’s future, specifically, all the value of that future. A fetus can be said to have a future and potential therefore, killing a fetus is wrong. It is just as bad as killing an adult human being which is illegal (Marquis 2014).…
