Adapting to ChangeTwo long term care facilities were chosen to conduct a study for change amongnurse assistants or CNA’s. The authors held twenty-three interviews with nurseassistants to find out how change affects the efficiency of work done. They concludedthat change should be an ‘engine’ rather than an ‘obstacle’ in the health carecommunity. I agree along the lines of their study and with the statements they had madethat teamwork goes a long way when you have a limited amount of time, and usually ashort amount as well.Some keys points are the questions that were asked to the nurse assistants. Theauthors only included four total categories of questions to ask, yet after the interviewsthey ended with six. Both added categories involved teamwork; which was reallyrevealing to me. That creates a positive impacton not just the staff, not just the resident but the families of the resident also. Thefamilies greatly appreciate others taking care of their loved ones and they want to seethem happy when they visit. They want to know that they being taken care of to the bestof everyone’s ability. In all together, the article was an insight on how things get done and how thenurse assistants work together to complete their tasks.
