In contrast, education on the Family Islands are only limited to one or two schools for students, where the ratio of students to teachers is greater. Furthermore, the education is mostly confined from elementary to high school education. In contrast, on the island of New Providence a wide variety of educational institutions are available. First, the variety of preschools are offered to children ranging from infant to toddler. These preschools such as Dayspring Academy, Sunny Days Christian Academy, and Dandy Lion’s Pre-School are top schools on the island, which is known to equip children at an early development stage with a great educational and social foundation. Then, the list of public and private schools from elementary to high schools such St. Andrew’s School, C.I. Gibson Senior High School, St. John’s College, Uriah McPhee Primary School, Queen’s College Lower & High School and D.W. Davis Junior High School are a few to mention which is known to provide all students on the island of New Providence with the necessary knowledge, skills and beliefs required to function in their development. Furthermore, these schools are equipped with a variety of technology options like computers and cable television, which has positively impacted the classroom and the productivity of students. Second, New Providence is also well recognized for providing a list of the top institutions for higher education. In fact, these institutions such as The College of the Bahamas, Bahamas Technical Vocational Institute and Omega College offers students the skills and education to become well-rounded while taking courses in Science, Math, History and English.
