What is ALAY LAKAD? ALAY LAKAD is a yearly walk conducted nationwide participated by civic-minded citizens in every city or municipality. The activity calls for two kinds of participation; a hiker who walks along prescribed routes and/or as a sponsor who provides financial support to fund socio-economic projects for Alay Lakad principal beneficiaries, the OUT OF SCHOOL YOUTH (OSY).
Who are the beneficiaries? The beneficiaries of the Alay Lakad funds are the economically needy OUT OF SCHOOL YOUTH, single and within the age range of 17 – 24 years.
What are its main objectives? The main objectives of Alay Lakad is to make monetary contributions and donations available to finance socio-economic projects which will make possible for the OSY’s to:
- undertake projects for their personal development and well-being of their families and communities
- to enhance basic knowledge and skills in initiating and managing income generating projects;
- to support his personal needs and eventually return to school;
- to become responsible and productive citizen and improve their quality of life;
- provide their adequate education
