It is hard to provide an exact definition of leadership, courage, & heroism because every person has his own opinion. The qualities a leader possesses are not always the same; they can vary according to the time in history he lived in, the problems that are occurring throughout that time period, and also the people whom the leader is leading.
Alexander's childhood played an important role in his development into a great man & military Leader. Many things of his childhood contributed in a direct or indirect way to his development, including his parents, his mentor Aristotle, his education, and the military experience he had early on in his life.
Alexander the great was born in the summer of 356 BC to Philip II and Olympias. Even though his hard & rough childhood as it was said in his time that he was a bastard & king Philip II got married once again from a new young girl to get his new royal son. That didn’t push him back from becoming the man he is now. Because of his great endurance & strong will he would never be what he is now "ALEXANDER THE GREAT".
He was a great military leader for several reasons. His life was filled with events that would provide him with valuable experience. The people with whom he was close while growing up urged him to try his hardest; especially his mother, and this also contributed to his great leadership. there are many great and remarkable events that prove his great & remarkable leadership is that he defeated the Persian army of 2 million slave army with only 40,000 warrior. His greatness even appears in how he conquered North Africa & most of Asia till India.
His courage was even more than remarkable. Not only because he used to fight side by side with his men while important & great leaders like him stood back; but he even made the first charge himself.
