Girl with Curves, Hello Fashion, and Something Navy are popular lifestyle and fashion blogs that have been featured on widespread magazines like; Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Marie Claire, and Cosmopolitan amongst others. These bloggers typically write topics on the latest fashion trends, how to style a certain clothing piece, their latest travel adventures, and a little about their lifestyle. Additionally, from time to time these bloggers like to share personal stories allowing their …show more content…
All three of these women have been blogging for years now and they also post frequently allowing their audience to keep up with the new fashion trends. Even though these bloggers write on similar topics, their blog websites have some differences from their target audience, to their website’s layout, to even the way they approach a topic.
Tanesha Awasthi the blogger behind Girl with Curves created the site in 2011 amid to help a certain selection of women. Tanesha uses her blog to encourage women of all shapes and sizes to embrace their curves with confidence. The target audience for this site are women who are experiencing motherhood, as well as curvy women who need help with styling, or women who are looking for fashion and beauty tips. Tanesha post new content on the site almost everyday which is important because it allows her blog followers to know that she is keeping up with the newest trends. Hello fashion’s content is almost the same as the other two blogging websites, but Christine also includes topics on home décor and post home videos. Not only does she post home videos, but for some of her blog posts she includes videos as a form of a tutorial which is something that the other bloggers don’t do for content. Target audience for Hello Fashion are women who are looking for tips on fashion, beauty, lifestyle, home decor and motherhood, however; Christine takes the time to engage with her audience because from time to time she answers questions that her audience frequently ask her and uploads the video on her site. Christine also tends to post content on her site frequently not as much as Tanesha, but at least once a week. Though Christine only post about once a week she does it on topics that are fit for the time of her post for example, in the beginning of March she posted about her Spring Break Favorites. The layout of Hello fashion is more images rather than text like the other blogging sites, unlike Girl with Curves, the audience doesn’t have to click each image to find out what the blog post is about because Christine includes the title. However, when clicking on a certain blog post at the end of that post another one pops up which ultimately could result in confusing the audience. Christine also includes links for where her audience can purchase the items on her post

In a positive view of social media, I plan to analyze the make up company Covergirl’s newest model who is making headlines for being the first Covergirl model to be a boy. The selection of the model, James Charles, as the newest model for the company brings up the question of traditional gender boundaries in fashion and beauty. In addition, it provides a role model for men who prefer to explore outside of these gender boundaries, and in so promoting their own self-image and acceptance. Furthermore supporting the facts that while there are some negative effects of social media, it can be used as a tool to help us grow as a society.…

While returning to the introduction’s hook in the conclusion is a frequently-used strategy, the authors throughout the article start slow by giving us an image in which to picture and feel, then they give info and quotes on how the industry targets certain groups and or body types. they then flow into how teens feel about fashion and even their own fashion by doing this she implies that young teens should not care about fashion but of their own happiness. Imagine a 25 – 49 year old woman – the professional woman whose style is effortless and chic, she’s not afraid to play it down a little and opt for jeans on the weekend. That is your average Harper’s Bazaar reader. Now, think of the woman who is racy, she chooses pumps over flats, and she is between the ages of 25 to 34 years old – she is most likely an avid Vogue reader. Although these target readers seem to be on opposite ends of the spectrum, both of the magazines that they read are strikingly similar, with minor differences.…
