Distilled or Poison?
There are billions of people all over the world, and one thing they all require is water.
Directly or indirectly, water affects all aspects of life. Without it, there would be no vegetation on land, no oxygen for animals to breathe and the planet would look entirely different than it does today. It is one of the most essential elements to health and is very important that your body obtains a certain amount every day in order to survive. Human beings can live for several weeks without proteins, carbohydrates, and fats but just a few days without water. As the human population increases over time, more and more water is demanded which results in

It can assure consumers that they will be drinking safe, non-chemical added water. Additionally, distillation removes potentially harmful contaminants and does not contain any pathogens. In the article “Why You Should Drink Distilled Water” Dr. David Williams explains that as the process is ongoing pathogens are being killed. He states, “The boiling action kills bacteria and other pathogens, and as the steam rises, it leaves behind waste material, minerals, heavy metals, and other heavier contaminants” demonstrating how even though bacteria and other sources of toxics are made to be harmful they are eliminated due to the high level temperature in which the water is at (Williams 2). Filtered water does not assure that it won’t contain pathogens and other types of bacteria. That makes distilled water more reliable and safer for people to drink. A key source that distillation does while filtration does not would be that it removes the water from the contaminants, instead of trying to remove the toxins from the

She claims, “A good quality, whole house water filter will remove the worst contaminants from your source water without removing the naturally occurring minerals, which are critical for optimal health” (Hearn 2). This depicts how minerals are very important for ones’ body and health because they aren’t made inside us. The process of distillation does not contain any source of minerals because it is closer to being absolutely pure. While minerals are essential for the basic functions of the human body to take place they are not just delivered into the body via water.
Minerals are mainly coming from our food and diet, not just from drinking water. If we were only to obtain minerals from drinking water into our bodies, we would have to drink about a full bathtub of water! Which is not very realistic. Overall, despite the fact that filtered water can be in some ways very beneficial for us humans, distilled water is much more safer and reliable.
Ultimately, even though filtered water can have some very beneficial factors to offer us like minerals, distilled water is superior for the fact that it does not contain added chemicals

With each breath, we take in oxygen that feeds our cells and fuels the production of energy. Water nourishes our tissues and helps regulate the level of chemicals in the body. The carbohydrates, proteins and fats that we ingest in food supply energy, as well as build materials the body uses for growth and maintenance. Each of these resources is vital to human survival. But how long can the body last when one of these resources reaches a critical low?…

Bottled water is said to be safer and more purified, but in many cases that is not true. First, it is not mandatory for bottled water companies to test for certain bacteria found in the water. They can violate rules and still sell the water. This puts people at risk of getting sick due to lack of water testing.…

Experiments were done on the water quality and the contamination of groundwater. First, I observed the effects that different pollutants had on groundwater. I predicted that the experiments with the oil and vinegar would create the most contaminations to the water. When the laundry detergent were mixed with the groundwater, it created a light green color with a pleasant smell. The second water treatment experiment were about filtering techniques to remove contaminants from water. I predicted to drain the water by removing all the contaminants by using a funnel to purify the water. The last experiment were performed using Dasani, and Fiji bottled water and Tap water to determine the quality of drinking water. I also predicted that tap water would leave the least amount of contaminants and the Fiji bottled water would have the most contaminants.…
