Animal Research
Animal Experimentation

There has been a disagreement between animal rights supporters and scientists about whether it is right to use animals in experimental research. Also, it is very debatable whether using animals for such research results in finding a cure for diseases. From my point of view, if there are no other alternatives, and if it is possible that this will contribute to science, animals may be used for experimental research.
Although the animal rights activists claim that people and animals are equal and so they should be treated equally, I think that people and animals cannot be seen equal, and therefore the death of an animal cannot be the same thing as the death of a person. Animal tests are the only way to study the behavior of a lethal pathogen (like HIV). For that reason, causing animals to die (Use a less harsh term like, to be tested on) for science, for the sake of saving human lives, may be considered right, to some extent if it will contribute to the advancement of science and will be to the benefit of people in general. Give a few examples of unnecessary reasons to harm animals ex: For cosmetics and such.
Also, animal rights supporters label scientists as “cruel” for causing animals to die in experiments, while they do not oppose the people, like farmers, who kill animals for food, even though they know that 99% of animals is caused by farmers while only a small percentage of 1% is caused by scientists. The basic reason for that is they find scientists easier to attack and cannot deal with farmers who are organized and strong and backed up by big organisations like The American Meat Institute. People and animals are different genetically and so it is useless to use animals in experiments to see the effects of some substances on people or you can say how it actually benefits people, because instead of putting actual humans through biological distress it is better to do it on animals that are closely monitored. They claim that it will

Additionally, some of the medicines that we test for humans can be translated over to animals to help fight against the large number of animals that are dying from disease. Animals are very useful when it comes to research like this because they get to benefit from it to.…

Do you ever think about if you are against or in favor of animal research? Animal experimentation is disputed because some people are favor and some are against. Animal research is used to discover those diseases that are without cure and to give the answers to the scientific community. Additionally, the animal experiments begin in ancient Rome and Greece. In the United States all pharmaceutical companies need first to experiment with the animals before humans. Nevertheless, without animal experimentation many of the most important advances in modern medicine would never have occurred. These experiments are important because scientists need to make sure that medicines are as safe and as good as possible before doctors give them to people and to discover more about how the medication works on human bodies.…

I am not going to argue against the point that animal research is necessary. But as the saying goes, “where there is a will, there is a way.” So maybe it is possible to find a way where we can conduct experiments without the expense of innocent animals. It may cost us a lot of money and it may even mean that finding the cure for deathly diseases will take even longer without the help of animal research. It simply begs the question, exactly how valuable are our morals are to us?…

Animals have been used in medical research for centuries. In a recent count, it was determined that 8815 animals were being used for research at MSU, 8503 of them were rats, mice, hamsters, and gerbils. The strugle against animal research has been one of the most debatable issues of the decade. Even though most researchers need to do experiments on animals in order to achieve medical advances, animal research should not be allowed because it is cruel and inhumane, it is not always accurate, and often unnecessary.…

It is not morally acceptable for scientists to use live animals in research for medicine that can be used to cure humans. Today we continue to use animals in experiments to learn more about health problems that affect both humans and animals and to ensure the safety of new medical treatments. Now that we know the purpose of animal testing, is it really worth killing millions of innocent animals? This practice is morally wrong and inconsiderate of us for letting this happen. People should stop using animals as experiment subjects and utilize the advance technology that we have now. This is happening because we are letting it happen! We have to start by educating others on this issue because the lack of knowledge on animal testing is why people…

The primary reason why animal testing should cease to exist is because it is inhumane to strip a helpless animal of its rights for the benefit of experimentation and research. "Animals have a basic moral right to respectful treatment . . .. This inherent value is not respected when animals are reduced to being mere tools in a scientific experiment.” (Lonestar) While animals cannot express themselves as humans can, they can feel, think, behave, and experience pain. Their inability to express themselves should not be taken advantage of.…

They have the ability to respond to the provocations in their environments and to instinctively take actions that are relevant to their survival, but they are not rational (Allen, 2010). Possums, for example, play dead when they sense a predator, and squids spurt ink to make themselves invisible from their enemies. Animals have locomotive skills to live and reproduce, but not the human rationality to think and feel like humans do. So the question is, for scientific experiments that require the use of a living creature, would it be more ethical to sacrifice a person so that the animals would be spared? Or, would the world be a better place to let people and a larger population of animals die in diseases that can otherwise be cured or prevented through animal testing? The welfare of all human beings should be given importance above all, and the animals are a means to make it possible. Then again, people also have the responsibility to replenish and protect these living creatures that provide them their needs. People may use the animals for scientific research, but they should also fulfill their duty to use methods that are least harmful to these creatures. Scientific research is not all about the use of animals. In fact, animals are only used for areas of research where no other techniques can give an answer. The animals used for research are also those that are not in danger of being extinct. For instance, the Hastings Center experiments on a species of monkey that is widespread in Africa to develop new treatments for Parkinson disease (Redmond, 2016). Researchers are also looking for ways to develop better communication channels to prevent the same experiments from being done in multiple facilities. More human techniques are also studied in an attempt to comply with the demands of animal welfare advocacy…

    Is Animal Testing a Crime?

Should animal testing be banned? Slavery, murder, and rape are considered among the worst crimes imaginable, however thousands of innocent animals die every day in labarotories, why? Throughout the centuries, scientists have searched are 74% Say Yes and 26% Say No for animal testing be banned. To treat and prevent disease in humans. Every new discovery must be tested to prove its reliability, because experimental results vary according to with the circumstances and the physiology of the animals used. Since animals are the closest living organisms to human beings, scientists have traditionally tested their new products on animals. However, over time better methods, which do not involve animal suffering, are available. Nevertheless, the debate continues between supporters of animal research, who believe that animal research is vital to medicine, and opponents, who are convinced that animal research is wasteful. The main argument to justify the inhumane use of animals is that evolution has placed humans on top, so it is natural for us to use other creatures. In response to this simplistic argument, one animal advocate declares: "Killing and using animals is an integral part of the evolution of human beings. Not killing and not using animals is the next step in our evolution". In other words, the fact that humans have used animals does not imply that we should continue to do so. Every day of a year, thousands of fully conscious animals are scalded, beaten or crushed to death, and more are subjected to horrible surgery and then allowed to die slowly and in agony. Is this morally correct? "No", says Ingrid Newkirk of PETA,"When it comes to feeling pain, a rat is a pig is a dog is a boy".In vitro studies with human cells and serum have permitted scientists to identify the AIDS virus and determine its effect, whereas, on the other side, the usage of thousands of animals for AIDS research have led to few useful results. Moreover, in some cases, animal…
