Many people today can say they love their pet, whether it is a dog, a cat, a rabbit, or fish. Little do we actually think about the animals suffering to the torture of cruel animal testing that goes on behind the scenes of the company’s we love. Maybelline, Head and Shoulders, and Clorox are all companies that test on animals, yet are still supported by the thousands of people that buy and use their products. I believe the main reason people continue to support companies that perform animal testing is because society today is not informed or educated about the severity of animal testing. People do not know or care to research if a company performs animal testing. Besides consumers keeping these companies alive and running, animal testing is not humane or morally right. Clorox alone is a $5.7 billion dollar company that does test on animals (nasdaq.com) with no consequences. These are innocent animals life’s being ended cruel testing. The key is to inform the public. We need to inform the public of the severity and sadness animals in testing cycles go through. Animals are not only subjected to the cruel testing, but they are also exposed to an irregular life of containment in a cage, for the rest of their life till the testing kills them. Animals can feel emotional pain. Similar to the pain we feel as humans after a heart break or loss of a loved one.
