Animal Testing Persuasive Speech
Did you know that, there are more then 115 million dogs, cats, rabbits, monkeys and other mammals that suffer and die each year due to animal testing. Do you agree that these animals should be killed? I am going to be talking to you about why we should stop supporting companies that do animal testing. I believe that it is appalling and disgusting to do animal testing for human experiments. Imagine living inside a locked cage without any control over any aspect of your life. You can’t choose when and what you eat, how you will spend your time, whether or not you will have a partner and children, or who that partner will be. You can’t even decide when the lights go on and off. Think about spending your entire life like a prisoner, even though you have committed no crime. This is life for an animal in a laboratory. It is deprivation, isolation, and misery. Is that how you would like animals to be treated? Helpless animals are suffering unnecessary pain and cruelty because we are doing nothing! I am going to …show more content…
We can save those non-privileged areas. We can save millions of lives just by not funding our tax money towards Animal Testing. The USA spends $16 billion dollars annually for animal testing through tax money. Harvard University payed $16 million for cruel drug addiction experiments on monkeys. The dreadful experiments on animals cost mass amounts of money, is this what you want your tax going to? These experiments are not worth our money, we could use our money for more important causes, like saving world hunger and, making sure everyone in the world can have clean water. Can’t you see how easily just by making one adjustment we can make the world a better and brighter place for animals and humans? You can do this by asking for your tax money not to be spent on animal testing and donating to foundations that help fight against animal

“The monsters within us are far worse than the monsters of the world.” A quote that possesses more wisdom than it appears. When I first read this quote, it spoke to me on a deep level. When people think of monsters, they think of the Wolfman, Dracula, Frankenstein, etc… but what we don’t realize, is that some of the scariest monsters can be within us. We are non-fiction and sometimes monsters can come out within the most unexpected people. Sir Gawain and the Green Knight is an example of how someone that is deemed honest and loyal could even have a monster somewhere within. There are people who even have a monster much more apparent than others, such as Barbara Allen. We may romanticize the idea of monsters and fear them in these stories,…

Many people don’t understand what the animals have to go through during all those tests. Scientists always say that the reason they use animals for testing is because we are so much alike. Every year millions of animals are subjected to horrible unethical experimentations in order to advance medical science. Dogs, cats, monkeys, mice, and other animals are kept in dark rooms in cages while being exposed to various toxic and poisonous substances daily in order to test how the substance may react in humans. These poor creatures suffer from inhumane treatments and are denied any form of happiness, and these experiments should cease and alternatives should be used instead. Animal testing is a cruel and ineffective medical practice that produces unreliable results and those laboratories should use safer alternatives that will provide more accurate results.…

Every year millions of animals are used in more than 1,000 laboratory experiments across the country. The facilities imprison millions of animals and exhaust millions of dollars to cause pain and suffering that are irrelevant to the diagnosis of the human well-being. Universities, hospitals, contract laboratories, pharmaceutical companies, and government agencies contribute to unethical animal testing. The cruel living conditions and senseless torture of these animals goes unnoticed by the majority of worldwide citizens. It is important that we bring this heinous practice to the attention of those who are unaware of these unethical procedures.…

I assume many of you have pets including cats, dogs, rabbits, and mice. Imagine yourself as your pet, but instead of living in a warm home with a caring family, you live locked up in a small metal cage, only being let out to swallow harmful chemicals, to be poked and prodded with needles, and to be injected with chemicals. This is the daily life of a testing animal. And after their use for testing is over, they are killed.…

This generation of human beings was lucky enough to be born at a time where there are heart transplants, and vaccines for illnesses. Also, we love to use products from Covergirl, Dove, and Pantene. Yes, all of these things are very important in our everyday lives. But, we tend to overlook what goes on behind the scenes. Covergirl, Dove, Pantene test their products on animals. Also, heart transplants and vaccines all go through animal testing first. The animals used in these tests get locked up in dark cages, and suffer through countless, painful procedures when there are better options. I believe that animal testing is unethical and should be banned for three reasons. Animal testing is inaccurate, cruel, and it is lengthy and delays the discovery…

Many people today can say they love their pet, whether it is a dog, a cat, a rabbit, or fish. Little do we actually think about the animals suffering to the torture of cruel animal testing that goes on behind the scenes of the company’s we love. Maybelline, Head and Shoulders, and Clorox are all companies that test on animals, yet are still supported by the thousands of people that buy and use their products. I believe the main reason people continue to support companies that perform animal testing is because society today is not informed or educated about the severity of animal testing. People do not know or care to research if a company performs animal testing. Besides consumers keeping these companies alive and running, animal testing is not humane or morally right. It has been scientifically proven that animals can to a certain extent feel pain (Tell Me if it Hurts: Investigating Whether Animals Feel Pain by Caroline…

    Animal Testing Is Wrong

Animal experimentation is not only cruel, but expensive as well. Thankfully, there are accurate, cheaper and quicker alternatives. First, there are the In vitro tests which are used to diagnose disease or health of patients using the patient's blood sample or body tissue. Another is microdosing, where humans are given low quantities of a product to test the effects on the body, without affecting the whole body system. There are also many computerized patient-drug databases, virtual drug trials, and stem cell and genetic testing methods. The United States alone spends about $16 billion dollars every year, coming from taxpayers, for animal experimentation. Just think about how much money the US could save if it abolished animal testing as a whole. The US has been in debt and in a depression for years, yet it continues to throw money down the toilet just to torture and kill animals. Animals are NOT the only way to test…
