Fashion is a popular style or practice, especially in clothing, footwear, accessories, makeup, body piercing, or furniture. Fashion is a distinctive and often habitual trend in the style in which a person dresses. It is the prevailing styles in behaviour and the newest creations of textile designers.[1] The more technical term costume has become so linked to the term "fashion" that the use of the former has been relegated to special senses like fancy dress or masquerade wear, while "fashion" means clothing more generally, including the study of it. Although aspects of fashion can be feminine or masculine, some trends are androgynous
Early Western travelers, whether to Persia, Turkey, India, or China, would frequently remark on the absence of change in fashion there, and observers from these other cultures commented on the unseemly pace of Western fashion, which many felt suggested an instability and a lack of order in Western culture. The Japanese Shogun's secretary boasted (not completely accurately) to a Spanish visitor in 1609 that Japanese clothing had not changed in over a thousand years.[4] However, there is considerable evidence in Ming China

The modern age of Anime arrived in Japan in the 1960s, and over the course of the next decade or so boomed into the giant robot, space battle genre bender that we would soon recognize as the anime of today. Evolving over the next 30 years or so, it reached a peak where it could begin to overtake and become an integral part of other cultures, much like the Hollywood of the 1930s quickly grew to encompass the rest of the world and inform their pop culture. In the same manner, American pop culture becomes increasingly educated by the trends and cult response to anime.…

This engages the audience more than a book because unlike a book, we don't set the pace that we are experiencing the story with. And in a movie, if something is intense or scary the music, and pace of the actual characters helps set the mood. Having animated episodes helps us see the way two or more events are intertwined and how the outcome of one event dictates the outcome of the next one. This helps making the plot clearer. Finally, animated shows can bring something to the audience…

    Sailor Moon

This has been a post I’ve been meaning to write for a long time. I’m an absolutely die-hard fan of Sailor Moon, and part of that is because it served as my childhood introduction to feminism. That might be a little bit hard to believe, considering the super heroines of the show are known for outfits not much more revealing than Wonder Woman’s. Silly outfits aside (you get used to them), this show was absolutely groundbreaking. Its protagonists are 10 realistically flawed, individual and talented teenage girls (and women) who, oh, you know. Save the world.…

I have the hobbies of an average pre-teen 8th grader, as expected. I play LOTS and lots of video games (my favorite game is fallout) and I have and love every kind of video game, and one of my first memories is actually of playing a James Bond game with my dad. If someone were to ask me why I play video games I’d tell them I play them for the same reason you read books or watch movies, except I think they’re better because you actually control the character in the story, or sometimes even create your own story, just as you would do with writing. Other than playing video games I do actually love to read. Except I like reading graphic novels and comic books.. I did actually read regular plain books a lot when I was younger, until I read my first graphic novel (The Walking Dead). They’re just more interesting and I find myself losing interest in regular books quickly. Another one of my hobbies is well… watching television shows/anime! I love both live action and cartoon shows, like Mythbusters, The Walking Dead, American Horror Story, Black Butler, Invader Zim and Adventure Time. And sorry this paragraph is so long. Bare with me! D: Okay so quickly I’ll say that I absolutely love movies! Horror is what I like best. My favorite movie (Silent Hill) is horror! I can’t say I get very scared watching them anymore unless it’s a really really good movie and actually can scare me, it has been a loong time since I saw a scary horror movie. Because I’ve seen sooo many! Other movies I really love are Borat, A Series of Unfortunate Events, Coraline, Corpse Bride, Sinister, and A Nightmare Before Christmas.…

Another huge popular liking brought by the Asian American are the shows known as anime. Anime originally comes from Japan and is similar to any typical American television show with the drama scenes, mystical creatures, and etc. The only difference is anime is spoken in Japanese but occasionally there is optional English translation added on to the shows. Anime also contains manga, which is a comic book of the show that contains more detail and events than the shows. Another huge plus about anime and manga is that they contain the history and lifestyle everyday Japanese citizen does on their daily…

I was really just a plain girl, bored with her life, but then Anime came into light, and this changed my whole lifestyle into something new. Since then, I've been drawn into the world of otaku. In this world, I've discovered a lot of great things like manga (which is a Japanese comic), Japanese games, and Japanese cultures. And in this world, I met new and real friends who can perceive things the way I see, and who can share the same happiness with me who contributed a lot to my personality. I love being in this kind of world where I can be myself without any restrictions and conditions. Even if the word “otaku” itself will disappear forever, the pride, the spirit, and the dedication of every otaku will live on.…
