However, the exam was insightful in my opinion because it gave us a better

In the first chapter of “Encountering God” the author Diana Eck starts by explaining that the book is her experiences in encountering different religions. “All of us have rivers deep within us, bearing the waters of joining streams.” I loved this starting quote it feels like she is open to any view. She knows that different beliefs are a good thing, and that we all have to experience different people because we need to be mixed together for us to grow and form our own views. Throughout the rest of the chapter she is telling us all about Bozeman, Montana. The memories she had from the town and the descriptions she made where vivid. What was a small frontier like town when she was a girl is now a busy city.…

The piece “The Atlantic Monthly” was written over one hundred years ago. In it the author believes that scenes which are inappropriate to even some should be “given up” freely to the public. It is clear that though the censorship of today’s society, this author had a valid point.…

This is basically everything we’ve ever learned in APWH, which I’ve compiled all into one study guide for use on the AP Exam. I know it’s a lot, and I apologize: but we’ve learned a lot. I’ve gone through the entire Princeton Review Book: reading, highlighting, and annotating to make sure I’ve covered everything important, along with outlines, handouts, websites, and other books. I really want everyone to do well, and I know you all will anyway—but I think this will help. I’m sorry if I’ve missed anything, but I don’t think there are any errors.…

When we first started teaching and we reflected on our instruction practices, we found that students did not understand their purpose for learning. We wanted them to make a connection from the content area to the real world. When students understand exactly what they’re supposed to learn and what their work will look like when they learn it, they’re better able to monitor and adjust their work, select effective strategies, and connect current work to prior learning (Brookhart, S., Moss, C., 2014)…

It’s a sad plight of those in other countries hoping, wishing, trying to get into the land of opportunity - The United States. Throughout my time as a part of National Honor Society and the entirety of my high school career, service has been the most important part of my experience. I have been required to participate in a small amount of service, but I have never felt as if it was enough. Because of this, I volunteer for many hours that exceed my requirements to give back to my community as often as possible. In pursuit of this achievement, I have worked on a variety of projects such as food and coat drives, children’s events, and habitat restoration projects. Each of these has given me something to take away from the experience and apply to my own life. Yet, one particular project has always had the greatest emotional impact on my life. This experience is Kenny’s…

In today’s classroom content standards are a cornerstone for teaching and learning. Standards are created to hold teachers accountable for teaching and are expectations for what students should know exiting grade levels. Content standards are how we form our lessons and then later create our assessments. Content standards are directly linked to ELA/ELD standards, because without a foundation of the English Language the student cannot be successful. Gottlieb states in Chapter 2 that all students can reinforce academic language functions through standards-reinforced curriculum, instruction, and assessment.…
