Argumentative Essay On Dogfighting
In this world today there are many big issues with how people treat animals. Animal equality is a very important topic because many people don't understand, and abuse animals on the daily. Animals all over the world are abandoned and mistreated, not only that they are abandoned and left for dead. Humans don’t comprehend the fact that animals have feelings to and we should treat them with the same amount of affection we do with humans.

In the article “Dogfighting” by the big animal website PETA they talk about how very many different breeds of dogs are abused each day so their owners can win large amounts of many. Millions of dogs are killed by other various breeds everyday. The owners of the dogs meet at a discrete location and force their dogs to fight. PETA states “Some dog fighter train their dogs by forcing them to tread water in pools; run on a treadmill while a caged rabbit, cat or other terrified animal is dangled in front of them; or hang on with their jaws dangling from a chain baited with raw meat.” Many trainers use techniques as to inject them with steroids and to

Ms. Peretti spent three months at the Bronx Zoo and the New York Aquarium. Overtime she began to observe that the animals were lazy and seemed depressed because of their placement. She states “It is a shame that they transport exotic animals to imprison them to get enjoyment out of the tourist that come through new york.” I believe she is a very credible author because she has gotten many awards such as the SONY award in 2014 for her transgender photography photos. There are many animals all over the world that are being held in

Jeremy Rifkin 's article, “A Change of Heart About Animals” argues that animals are more like humans than we imagine and as a result should be treated with the care that they deserve. Rifkin develops and supports his argument using facts about the animals and these facts end up touching hearts. In order for Rifkin to get his point across he uses a smart technique by using pathos and plays with the emotions of his audience. Rifkin loves animals and his passion and love evokes emotions that the audience can feel. Animals can feel and have emotions similar to ours. in agreement with Rifkin, I argue that it is wrong and inhumane to kill or abuse animals because they feel, they deserve to have space and should be valued as much as humans are It is wrong no animal should be killed due to abuse or testing, it is wrong and inhumane.…

There are many ways in which people tend to abuse of animals. An example is neglect, meaning that between a pet and the owner there is a “failure to provide an animal with the most basic of requirements of food, water, shelter and veterinary care” (What). Dogfighting is another example. Dogfights are events when two dogs are put inside a fighting pit and are forced to fight until the other one is dead or is too weak to fight back. The fights are brutal and the owners abandon the loosing dogs with only a couple more hours to live because of its deadly injuries or inhumanly kill the dogs themselves. The winning dog owner gets a money price. Most of the dogs that are considered to not be good enough to be entered in the pit and be victorious are used as bait to train other dogs or as breeding dogs where they are constantly exploited. All of these actions that people inflict on the animals can make them become very scared of humans, other dogs and their surroundings causing them to be very…

Animals deserve rights because just like humans, they feel excruciating pain, suffer and have feelings. One would argue that animals don’t experience emotions? But the answer is of course they do. It is emotions that allow animals to display various behavior patterns. According to the theory of utilitarianism, all sentient beings should be given consideration in the society and this includes both animals and humans. Also, animals cannot speak for themselves and for this reason they should be treated equally, protected and given the same respect as human beings. Peter singer’s approach also supports the argument on equal consideration in that animals deserve the same respect as human beings but just in a different view. In today’s society humans exploit animals for milk, meat, fur, scientific experimentation etc. and animals are constantly injured or killed. Their pain and sufferings should be taken into consideration, as this unjust treatment is morally unacceptable. Similarly speciesism is an…

That's the only way they could cut him loose.”-Rudy Bernal. This was a report from someone’s “family” dog, a pitbull, attacking a person. This is why I believe that fighting dogs like pitbulls and Rottweilers should not be kept by the general public.…

“Wolves are the dogs that stayed behind.” The world is a cruel place. A thing that can be treasured in one instance can be a threat in the next. For many people, we stare at the natural world and see its rugged beauty and wish that we could captivate it for ourselves. The case is no different for our modern dogs. Bred from the “empty canvas” of a wolf, we’ve modified, altered, formed, transformed, reformed, and remodified wolves to be one of the closest companions we have still today: dogs. But through all of our perfecting and reshaping that we’ve done to our best friends’ closest ancestors, wolves have prevailed, echoing their famous legacy still throughout the world. Wolves, now in danger of extinction, are one of the greatest controversies…

Dogs are raised in isolation and spend most of their lives in heavy metal chains. Some dogs are fed anabolic steroids to receive more muscle mass and encourage aggressiveness. In some cases narcotic drugs are even fed to them to make them more aggressive. Dogs have their tails cut short and ears cropped to have less chance of another dog grabbing at it during a fight. The worse part is the dogs have their tail and ears cut by their cruel unprofessional owner. During a fight, dogs are contained in a 14 by 20 square-foot pit. Dog fighting can last from a few minutes to several hours. Dogs can suffer from blood loss, broken bones, puncture wounds, and crashing injuries. Dog fighting is not always to the death however, if you are the losing dog it does not look splendid for you. The losing dog is often killed by their owner or the “sport” or just thrown away like they are nothing. Give police dog fighting posters so they can go and stop it before it start. Try to make the laws in a state more punishing when dog fighting is involved. Dogs are fantastic beings that should not need to put their life on the line for people’s…

This research is supported by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals; Former Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick, who is now a Pittsburg Steelers quarterback, was convicted of dog fighting. However he was not caught or convicted for seven whole years, which was enough time for him to abuse and kill many dogs. Vick abused his dogs and trained them for the sole purpose of fighting against one another in a pit, and he encouraged them to cause a lot of damage to one another or even kill another canine. Dogs on Vick’s property were penned in small cages or chained to a buried car axle. It is said when the dogs were no longer useful or able to fight they were wet down and electrocuted, hanged, beaten, drowned, shot, or slammed against the ground. Vick is one of many famous people to join the dog fighting world and house underground fights…

Animals are species of this earth too and they shouldn't be treated like they are any less than humans. People don't realize what animals go through because animals are tortured and treated harshly behind doors, which is the reason humans don't understand their pain. If people were exposed to how animals get treated and how they get slaughtered they would know that it's wrong because they have rights just like humans do. Pollan emphasizes that equality between animals and humans is important when he writes, "To exclude the chimp from moral consideration simply because he's not human is no different from excluding the slave simply because he's not white" (Pollan 207). Animals are usually not talked about when it comes to equality because they aren't the same as humans, which is wrong because just cause animals are different than humans doesn't necessarily mean their existence or interest is not relevant.…

Zoo’s are an attraction for many each year, but not enjoyed by the animals behind the steel bars and glass windows. Would being locked in a cage and have visitors looking in while pounding the glass and rumbling the bars be a day worth enjoying? Of course, not. These actions are what the animals facial and body expressions reveal to visitors taking pictures. The zoo’s guests, being excited to be there and admiring the animals, cannot place themselves on the other side. Visitors sees only how everything appears to be perfect for their viewing pleasure. Simply stated, animals should not be locked in cages. For instance, elephants that are…

Animals from creation have been an essential integral part of human beings. They have frequently been, either directly or indirectly, used by humans to achieve their needs. Hence they are important part and great asset to humans. These animals do have lives different from that of humans and equally have some similar characteristics with humans like emotional feelings. This very fact puts humans in a difficult position of determining the amount of respect and regard that should be accorded to the animals. Some people agitate that animals should be granted same equal rights as human beings. Inasmuch as I quite agree that animals should be granted some rights in order to be free from cruel treatments by humans, the issue of granting them equal full rights as enjoyed by humans should not come up. An objective review of such factors as tradition, cultural believes, religious, socio-economic, and medical as well as salient natural features that distinguish animals from humans like morality, and ability to…

On January 2015, a report came out saying that over the past three years, on average every year, there were one thousand nine hundred animal cruelty cases (Statistic Brain Research Institute). Of those reported cases, nine percent were from animal fighting. Dog fighting is a major moral issue across the nation. Dog fighting is the act of forcing dogs to fight to the death in a pit or box for the enjoyment of their owners and the public. The argument against dog fighting could be argued through the fact that dogs are moral agents, virtues ethics, utilitarianism and the doctrine of double effect because it is morally wrong to inflict a lifetime of pain onto a dog or any animal for the pursuit of pleasure or just for the sake of their own rights.…

Dogs are man’s best friend, but let’s pay attention to the underdog here. Or rather, the under-cat. The nation is in a debate about which is the best pet, dogs or cats. Dogs are great, however, here’s the reasons why cats are superior. Cats are independent animals and can be left unattended. Cats are not raucous, unlike dogs. Cats can align themselves upright.
