Not to date that last mass shooting, but to do something to try and prevent the next one.” On January 5, 2016 President Obama stated that we as the nation need not to wait till the next mass shooting happens, we need to act upon it before it’s too late. Although there are rules laid out for it, gun reform needs to be put in a stricter form so that backgrounds checks can be put into force instead of trying to pass by them. Gun reform laws set forward to control how many people can own a gun and what type of gun someone can have and purchase. For example, President Obama outlined
several modest and useful adjustments or gun reform. In doing so, his is trying to do as much as he can without stepping out of bounds of his legal authority and power. Being able to get a chance to change something for the good and for the life of others should not be crime or should be postponed any longer . Gun sellers have being selling guns to people. The way that they government and the president are trying to have more control on gun reform is by expanding the number of background checks on gun buyers. For example, “The FBI background check system by hiring more people and modernizing technology, and improve access to mental-health care.” In doing this, it will have a lot more control on who buys guns and what their intentions are for it. Welcoming the idea of improvements to background checks, that would better screen out the bad people while making it easier and faster for law- abiding citizens to get guns.
