A planet like Mars has to have a oxygen-rich atmosphere, surface, dependable temperature, and water in order for humans to survive. NASA has discovered that “Using an imaging spectrometer on Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter Planetary, researchers detected signatures of hydrated minerals on slopes where mysterious streaks are seen on Mars… They darken and appear to flow down slopes during warm seasons, and then fade in cooler seasons”( NASA). This proves that there is evidence that liquid(water) is flowing on Mars today. Since the streaks disappear in the cooler season, this indicates that the water evaporates quickly because on Mars the temperatures are mostly freezing. There were many rovers that were launched to Mars and one them was named Curiosity: “Curiosity detected radiation levels that exceed NASA’s career limit for astronauts(Computer world, Sharon Gaudin)”.This implies that engineers from NASA need to build special spacecrafts and space suits that will be able to protect humans from the high levels of radiation when they go to the space mission. Without the curiosity rover we would've never discovered the radiation levels on Mars.
