Asthma Attack Short Story

Fast beating of heart, fear of death and gasping for oxygen happened to me in 6th Grade. It was a day filled with half enjoyment and half fear of death. It all started after playing intense basketball with older people. I was enjoying my time off from school during the summer and I played with my older brother who took a couple of my friends and I to a gym. When we first entered the Gym it smelled very bad and had tall sweaty people. I sat out for a couple games because some people were resolving bets. After a couple games I joined the lineup all prepared, but little did I know I forgot to use my inhaler, , I did not think of my inhaler when I was playing. I was too distracted and focused on winning the game. But crazy me, I did not look at
Then after a few minutes it went away. POW! Again it started to hurt even more. That’s when I was really thinking about what was wrong with me, but still I did not think about my inhaler. After 2 hours of intense basketball I felt my heart beating so fast people could sort of hear it beat. I took a quick break to drink water and again I went back into action. After several minutes I fell to the ground and I thought I was having a heart attack, but really I was having an asthma attack. I started to cough a lot and I was wheezing severely. Those symptoms reminded me that I did not take my inhaler. My friend and my brother saw me on the ground after that my friend was the only one with a phone and he called my dad who was not far away from the gym to pick me up. My dad came running with my inhaler and I hopped in the car. He drove to the nearest hospital and I went to the emergency department. I was then questioned about what happened and what actions did you take to solve this. I was still wheezing and I couldn’t even breathe. The nurse stopped with questioning and she took me to a room where there was a doctor who put me on oxygen. I was on oxygen for thirty minutes and then my chest started to hurt and the doctor ordered for
