Throughout life we all make perceptions and have outlooks on how things should be. The issue is that we make these without understanding and completely seeing the overall details about the subject. After reading the book “Authentic Spiritual Mentoring,” by Larry Kreider I have come to the conclusion that the subject of mentoring has the tendency to fall into that category. Discipleship programs are present in the church, but unfortunately I do not think that many churches look at spiritual mentoring quite in the same way as proposed in the book. I feel that the church now more than ever has a crucial need for spiritually mature men and women to mentor younger believers. In order for these younger…
I hope all is well, I am writing this email to inquire about next steps after my track is complete in June. I have been in my seasonal supervisor role for a little over 2 months and it has been a great learning and development experience and I am overall, enjoying the process. It is hard to believe that it will be a year since I began this development process and I am even more grateful for the opportunity now, than 10 months ago, because of the platform that was granted and contributed to my growth as a leader. Dana Leake has been an exceptional mentor through this process in providing me with great tools to succeed and continue to grow as a leader. Now that I am less than 2 months away from the end of the development track, I am hoping to…

What have mentors done in my life to allow me to get to where I am today. In todays class assignment I understood what most of my mentors have done in my life. Throughout my existence I have had many people to help me continue on my journey as I went thru many test and trials. As I have had troubles with getting thru school with classes, students life, and motivation. One of my mentors would always be available to lend a helping hand to move on. My parents, siblings, family, and family friends have always been my cheerleaders, support system, and always given constructive criticism when I needed it. Without their support I would not be able to continue my life in a well balanced matter.…

I am interested in participating in the Leadership Development Program because I want to be a Mentor once again. I was a mentor for high school freshmen in my senior year, but that year was enough for me to want to do it again. Just being that person who they would ask for help or for information made me feel enlightened in a way, and certainly made me happier because I knew I was positively impacting their life. And I know that mentoring high school freshmen and mentoring college freshmen is different, but I still believe that I can help those incoming students transition to a new chapter of their lives as reassuringly as possible as I did so with my group of high school freshmen.…
