Becoming A Registered Nurse Essay
Nursing is a helping profession that is committed to providing care for every individual. Three essential components of professional nursing are to care, heal and manage. Caring requires a registered nurse to understand the patient’s needs and to have compassion. By providing patient-centered care the person/patient will be able to receive services designed to meet their individual requirements and preferences. For instance, a nurse may have two patients with the same illness, however each patient may react differently to certain medications and treatments. Therefore, it is imperative for a registered nurse to monitor their patients, such as checking their vital signs regularly and to obtain this information accurately. By having the opportunity be one on one with a nurse allows you to gain more hands on experience. For instance, by having fewer students will ensure each student to receive an adequate amount of time to practice and learn. Observing a registered nurse will allow students to better understand the provision of patient quality care. I believe that this experience will enable the student to feel comfortable and confident when working in a hospital setting. There is a constant challenge and change that occurs in a nurse's life, therefore students need to be ready to make competent and swift decisions. Additionally, students will have the chance to ask more questions, which is an essential component in learning. Registered nurses have the experience and knowledge to guide students into how to properly monitor and care for their patients. Learning how to effectively care for patients will allow the student to ease into the role of the Professional Registered
