Although there is no major study for undergraduate study, neurologist many benefit from focusing on biological sciences, chemistry, physics, or pre- med to meet requirements for medical school. Future neurologist should try to get as much education as possible to increase better chances at getting into medical school. After they receive their undergraduate degree, they go to medical school for approximately four years. Once someone is admitted into medical school they typically spend their first two years in classrooms associated with labs studying psychology, physiology, anatomy and medical ethics, and pharmacology. The other two years are spent meeting medical requirements. Clinical workers see patients in clinics and hospitals under the supervision of a licensed physician. Next, one must obtain your internship which typically takes one year, while you gain experience. Interns rotate through different departments, increasing their knowledge in certain areas of health care. People will spend some time in neurology but also in other fields as well. Following someone's internship is residency which normally take three years. Your residency is where you focus on neurology mostly. Neurology residents spend their time making round with the supervision of physicians to monitor or examine patients, attending lectures and completing scenarios involving cases studies. After one has completed all of this next is fellowship which can take one to eight years. Although fellowship is not necessary, it gives additional training in neurology and the opportunity to work with research teams. The average fellowship last one to two years but can be up to eight years. The length of the fellowship is determined by the sub-field chosen and the requirements of the specific fellowship
