Blue Fire Monologue
Some people say music is its own language. Other people say music is the gateway to the soul. I say music is a pathway to death. It was the last day of school and my friends and I, Aiden and Sam were going to a bond fire. We go to this bond fire every year. It’s on a ranch near the Powderhorn, and we would burn all of our homework from that school year. My dad was driving us to Jack’s house.
Once we got there my dad dropped us, off we went around the house, and saw the biggest bonfire like a whole house was on fire. I unpacked my assignments and tossed them in the inferno. Blue fire lashed out and my homework was gone in an instant. Someone bumped into me, it was Jack.
“Hey, Carl I was just telling your homies about this radical place in the

Sam was always the bold type he tried everything new. Sam also knew how to do a lot of things like climb mountains, to build fires.
“Wait, where is Aiden, he was just here a minute ago” Sam asked
“AAAAAAHHHHHH” A voice screamed from the woods
All of us bolted into the forest looking and yelling Aiden’s name.
“OVER HERE”
It came from the left. We found Aiden in a clearing. A beautiful place with trees surrounding us with a glimmer of moonlight directly in the middle. There, in the middle was a golden harp. It was shaped like half of a heart with diamond strings.
“Look at this, it seems to be an ancient artifact” Aiden exclaimed “We should strum it”
“SLAM-A-COW that’s cool” Jack said excitedly ”I will go get other people to see this” He ran off. Just then I felt like I got hit in the head by a rock. I jumped up quickly at turned my head but we went I opened my eyes I could tell we were not in Wyoming anymore. “I strummed the harp and we like, teleported here” Sam

The entrance was huge it led into the one big room. I could see in the middle moon light was shining down on the harp, glistening in the moonlight. We stopped at the entrance to catch our breath. I glanced up, hands still on my knees, and saw a black figure. It was transparent like someone had drawn him and he came to life. It was pitch black except for his claws they were silver like a knife. It was moving very fast, vanishing than reappearing in a new spot, and twitching more and more as it got close to us. I looked to my sides and Sam and Aiden were gone. They were already at the harp screaming my name and telling me to get close enough to hear the harp’s song. I ran as fast as I could to the middle, but stopped halfway because the thing was between me and the harp. I got a closer look at it it had no eyes, yet I could feel it glaring into my

I distinctly remember having lost all feeling in my tongue and walls closing in around me. I remember sitting on my bed, feet dangling over the edge. Visions of my brothers, my nephew, and my unborn son flashed in my mind like lights warning me to not come any closer; for if I did, I would meet a similar fate. The light from the television flickered on our faces; mine blank, two shameful, and the last with rage. There is not a single noun, verb, or complex sentence in any language to describe how I felt that night.…

In the second grade, I had a crippling fear of my teacher, who loved to play, “Let's pick on all the students who aren’t raising their hands.” In my imagination, school was where carnivorous teachers scanned the classroom, looking to slaughter the most helpless creatures. And it seemed like this one had clear intentions of mounting my prized head on the wall. This meant that I suffered from a chronic case of rapid heartbeat, timid eye contact, and tense palms that left imprints of red crescent moons on my thighs.…

Auron stood away from the altar. He could only watch his two companions approach it in abject silence. He'd noticed Davon's change gradually as they made their way back from Morvac. He was emotionless, lending only blank, uncaring stares as they traversed the wooded areas to the spire. Matthiu was more beside himself. The unending call for the dagger - the way he described it - was the insatiable need told through far-off whispers that slipped like bells tolling.…

Fortunately, I had to carry all the light supplies like marshmallows and towels. We walked about four miles into the overgrown weeds and prickers until there was a small parting in the greenery. I sat on a log near the firepit and watching Chloe and Lexy set up the tents. A few hours of adventuring and partying went by it was now nightfall. The fire had been lit, by then it was pitch black out only the fire lighting up our faces. Freshman year we started playing the game one truth and two lies, a childish game we played out of boredom. We had been playing for about thirty minutes before we got bored and it was the last turn of the game. Lexy grinned “I’ll go, I have a fish named Tom, I have a trampoline, or I am a Serial killer.” We all laughed at the idea of Lexy being a Serial killer then chloe spoke up, “it’s the trampoline I know it!” she smiled knowing she got it correct. Lexy shook her head, “Alright, then the fish named Tom.” I said hesitantly. She shook her head again at that moment Chloe and I stopped laughing and stared at Lexy. After two minutes Lexy spoke up “Honestly, I was out shopping I had a 50% off coupon and the man at the register wouldn't take it! We fought for five minutes then I left, but I waited till…
