Trying to find your family that are far away from you is very hard. In Bud Not Buddy, by Christopher Paul Curtis, Bud faces many problems and meets new friends along the way. They help Bud on his journey and guide him to his destiny to find his father. When Bud begins his journey he is adventurous and creative and at the end he is happy and confident.
In the beginning of the story he is adventurous and creative because he walked all the way to get to Grand Rapids and made some rules to help him along the way.
