Bullying; use superior strength or influence to intimidate (someone), typically to force him or her to do what one wants. Statistics show that one of the most common reasons for suicide is bullying. Bullying often starts at a young age. As young as even 5! However sometimes, people may not be aware that they are bullying someone. Suicide is one of the top leading causes for death in Arkansas. It is the third leading cause of death for 15-24 year olds. When you’re bullying someone you don’t ever know for sure how bad you’re hurting them. Especially when you don’t know their home life problems. For all you know they could already be suffering abuse at home. No one deserves to feel unworthy. No one deserves to feel that type of pain. Sometimes it’s even excluding someone from a group project/ activity. In fourth grade I got into trouble for bullying someone. Fourth grade! No, i didn’t physically harm someone. No, I didn’t call someone a name. I told someone that they couldn’t play tag with a group of friend and myself. Crazy right? I didn’t mean to hurt that person’s feelings. I wasn’t trying to be mean, but that is how easy bullying someone can be. I didn’t even realize that I was bullying that person! Many times someone ends up bullying someone without realizing it. Sometimes a person will walk up to someone and call them a name in a joking manner. Then the next day, call them the same name. Then the day after that, call them that name again. Yeah it was a joke. Yeah they laughed with you, but little did you know that you were hurting this person’s feelings and convincing them that they were whatever you called them. Now you have bullied that person. Without even realizing it, you have hurt that person and bullied

    On November 5, 2010, Brandon Bittner, a 14 year old boy from Mount Pleasant Mills, Pennsylvania walked six miles in the middle of the night to take his own life. Brandon left a note for his family and friends stating that he was being bullied by his peers and could not handle it any longer.
