Business Plan
Medical Transportation

A & R Services

Summary
Non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) businesses transport individuals, generally the elderly and disabled, who are not in an emergency situation but need more assistance than a taxi service provides. These businesses are typically equipped to transport those in wheelchairs and in stretchers. They also transport ambulatory individuals- people who can walk but much more slowly, use a cane or a walker, or simply need some form of additional assistance in getting from Point A to Point B. Transport people to and from medical appointments, in and out of hospitals and nursing facilities, or from residences to various medical appointments.
More and more people need to go for hospital visits or check ups and getting a cab is not always flexible. With the A&R Service, your clients will call you up and they will just wait for you at home. When you arrive, that’s the only time when they will go to their appointments. Like any other type of business, you will need to begin with a business plan. The plan will cover the marketing analysis. Competition is not that touch since not many business owners think of this type of service. They often think that it’s like ambulance service. A&R Service also provide a secured guardianship to travel with a child age 18 younger that has a visit in another state. This is a great opportunity because this is a service-based business. There are no products to buy, store, ship or sell. Because you're going to be traveling into your community to transport your clients, you don't need a high-priced, fancy office or an elaborate store front to encourage business. Your target market is booming, growing faster than any real estate market or any other markets. And although the NEMT industry is growing and is in high demand, it's NOT a high-tech business. You

They use a spoke wheel model which I had never heard of so I researched it and it is common in business world it’s just never shared. It’s when a team of investors or owners of clinics staff more than 3 clinics in the town or the state. The one team is in charge with staffing, management, marketing, and even financials of their clinics with the help of the owners and top of Wound Care Specialists. This giving the spoke wheel a good thing to expand the company as much as they can per state and cities. The cool thing I learned is the clinics are not all open every day, due to staffing being short in the health care, they spend the day at different clinics each day. Making the travel each day to the different clinics makes it easier on customers and the travel expands the travel of locations to create a wider customer base. This is a great idea when you only need one staff and create a huge client base based on the city or clinic you’re at. This model has worked for successful company that don’t have the amount of clients to profit at each clinic and to help employment base. I think if there were more customers and employees then this model is probably not a great idea due to the fact you need to profit at each and rent or bills on closed stores is a big expense that can be eliminated if they staffing…

The amount of money that can be borrowed has many entities and factors that influence the capital budget of the hospital (Cleverly, Song, & Cleverly). The Allen Pavilion of NY Presbyterian Hospital (NYPH) is projecting that the purchase of an MRI machine for their facility will be a venture worth pursuing. The growth and demand of the small community of Inwood NY currently is transported or sent to other facilities or to the downtown campus Milstein. This increase in demand has taken over the capacity of what the Milstein campus can efficiently serve. The small community pavilion serving this neighborhood is an aging community. The majority of the patients cared for at the Allen are reimbursed via Medicare. MRI’s serve to assure better quality of care for the patients and is an important advanced technology that is needed for this aging population whom is informed and demand quality healthcare services. The patients cared for at the Allen Pavilion currently have to be sent downtown for MRI’s via cab, ambulance, and at the cost of the hospital.…

With the elder population living longer, the medical field needs to expand to meet the demands of the homebound patient. According to a study by Auerbach (2012), he projects the APN workforce will continue to expand a steady rate reaching 200,000 by 2020 and 236,000 by 2025. At the time the study was conducted in 2012, there were 128,000 APN’s. Having a home-care based practice is only one way to ensure homebound individuals are properly cared for and is guaranteed medical attention. One advantage of home-care visits alleviates the burden of the family of trying to find transportation to a physician’s office. Not only will APN’s home-care visits be convenient for homebound patients, it will be very cost effective as well. Naylor and Kurtzman (2010) assumes that the average cost for the APN visit is 20–35 percent lower than the cost of a physician…
