Research problem and purpose
One of the main purposes for Time Warner Cable is the ability to bring in as many new clients while being able to maintain the satisfaction of the existing clients. A reason why clients are canceling or unsatisfied with the service from Time Warner Cable stems from customers paying for something they expect and may not be getting. The other issues would be how to be able to bring in new clients, what types of services can Time Warner Cable offer to the new incoming clients and existing clients, find the main concerns and reasons to clients drop service. There are some points that time warner would have to have to approach the situation and issues with the current customers. By finding the answers to these points Time Warner Cable will be able to find the solution to the reasons why customers are unsatisfied and in turn dropping their service.
What is the appropriate sampling method?
The type of sampling method that our research would implement would be cluster sampling. We found that using this type of method would allow us to be able to get the best result in the type of research that we are trying to achieve on a population of clients that are very unsatisfied and in turn, dropping service.
What sampling frame will be used?
When it comes to the sampling frame we would like to do is survey nationwide in order to be able to garner a solution and collect the census and data on other cable users in general across the nation.
What is the appropriate sampling size?
The survey that we will be conducting will be on a large scale and that would have to begin with the existing customers as we would like to know the thoughts of these customers since they are still staying with the company. We would also like to take the survey nationwide because that to us as a company would show what the true data is and would be able to have the complete information from around the U.S. This will also allow us to survey non customers and

Due to Cablevision already being in hot water with the New Yorkers for not carrying the Yankee games, Dolan decided not to reduce customer service staff. As mentioned in text, in addition to Cablevision’s market value taking a nasty tumble in summer of 2002 with typical range of $60 to $70 per share to only a low of$5, the company was only losing the cable subscribers thanks to their refusal to carry New York Yankee games; Cablevision certainly wanted to carry the games, but not at the price the Yankees channel was demanding (Bovee, Thill, Mescon pg.577). Dolan did not want to lose more customers than Cablevision had already lost with the decision of not playing the games. Another reason for the decision to not reduce the customer service staff was because of the handling of the high call volumes the company was expecting due to the inquiries.…

Nonetheless, Pay TV is declining and the rate of penetration decline is accelerating as viewing television content online become increasingly popular. Powerful competitive forces such as Netflix, Amazon Instant Video, Hulu, and now CBS’s standalone product “CBS All-Access” and HBO’s partnership with Apple has formed strong threats to Comcast. With the changing consumer demands and the distinctive needs recognized regarding different customer segments, the question of whether its current business model will still be viable in the marketplace has…

Influences at play in the early 1990s were only augmented when Congress passed the Telecommunications Act of 1996, allowing “competitive distribution technologies…to compete with traditional cable and direct satellite broadcast in what had been an exclusive industry;” as a result, the industry engaged in a frenzy of investment and consolidation. Operators with the means began to upgrade their networks to provide high-speed Internet, telephony, and digital cable via broadband, as well as value-added services like video-on-demand and interactive TV; those left out were forced to consolidate or face elimination. Consequently, the top eight cable operators went from controlling approximately 53% of the industry in 1990, to 79% in 2001.…

The most popular technology that Comcast has created is Xfinity. This product allows for on-demand television and internet access. The combination of cable, internet, and telephone services has allowed them to surpass fifty million customers (O’Shea, 2012).With millions of users, this is where they make the majority of their money. One of the negative aspects of Comcast within the past year is that they have been losing thousands of customers through other products like Netflix. Because of this, they have recently exposed a new product that should gain back all of the customers they lost. “Comcast has launched a new store that enables US Xfinity TV customers to buy movies and TV shows. Titles purchased through the new Xfinity On Demand store belong to a user, and can be streamed as many times as they wish on their TV, computer, or mobile device” (McCormick, 2013). This new advancement in their services will keep them on top of other competitors such as DirecTV and Netflix.…

After reading the article In Ms. Shaw case Comcast did not take the appropriate action of meeting the customer’s wants and needs. Comcast fail to acknowledge her feeling and they did not own up to their mistake. My bad experience with customer service is when I went to return an Item to Ross clothing store. I stood in line the return line for10 minutes and kept her head down and did not asked if I needed help.
