It was popular all around the world and even hit number four on the UK singles chart. It was equally as popular is the US and his song ended up at number twenty-four on the US Billboard Hot 100. Harris announced the release of his new song on his twitter page five days prior to its release. This song was described as an uptempo dance hall tropical song. While in one of his interviews, he stated that his new song’s lyrics were about his career in the grocery store that he used to work at. Before he released this information, there was a rumor going around that it was about his breakup with Taylor Swift. The single also ended up opening at number four on digital songs with approximately 53,000 downloads.
This song stands out because Calvin Harris wrote this song himself and put his feelings into it. He wrote about his past and about how the grocery store he used to work at presented problems and about how it shaped him to be who he is today. This is especially important because most famous music artists don’t write their own songs and have somebody to do it for them. This song also has a unique beat, fast tempo, it is easy to dance to, and also easy to sing to; however it is very repetitive and needs more

I am really not a big fan of rock music but this song really had a huge impact on me that made me fall in love with it. The pace and tempo of the song is slow and steady and I like songs that are like that because I can really connect to them and it helps me understand them more better than a very fast and not steady song. This song should relate to a lot of people who go through the problems that faced in this song. It can help them better relate what they are going through in life. High and Dry is a really great song by Radiohead and it helps me relate to it in many ways that have been through in my…

This song is innovative because it is offering the perspective that a person can be both black and rich. Sometimes external sources such as the media say that it is almost impossible to rise out of the trenches of poverty and rise to have a luxurious life if an individual is black or a person of color. This song is trying to reach the black youth and tell them that they should…

I fell in love with the song the first day I heard it, and when it was nominated for the Grammy’s my fingers were crossed. I am a fan of Tyrese, although I love the song ‘Shame” but first time I heard it I was not that into the song compared from the Tyrese back in the days. It took me a while before I could like the song. Jazmine Suilivan, no!! I don’t like her songs, I compare her with Melanie Fiona, they mostly sing sad songs about break up, so I am still wondering why she was nominated for a Grammy because “let it burn” had nothing special about it. I mostly listen to R&B songs from the 8o’s 90’s and early 2000’s, and D’angelo started his career in the early 90’s but I have never listened to his song from start to finish. I always skip. I don’t like his voice, when he won the Grammy I was only excited that a guy from the early 90’s can still come back and win a Grammy; otherwise I was expecting Miguel to…
