The leading error was that the new campus recruiter planned his first trainees without thoroughly planning and setting goals for everyone involved in his process. Carl dallied for over a month to start deciding whether everything was in order for the upcoming training class. He hired the 15 new trainees in April giving adequate time for him to recheck that applications were filled out properly and drug screening completed. Mr. Robins should have been proactive in his new position of recruiting new trainees. Instead, he expected that everything was completed and that all he needed was to appear at orientation with the new manuals for the trainees.
