    Egg Drop Project Essay

    • 721 Words

For this project, I made a capsule for an egg that is to be dropped from about twenty feet. This capsule that I made was not what I was thinking at first but when I started to build it, I saw that this capsule would hold better than the one that I was thinking which was a triangular capsule with the egg in the middle but I saw later one that the egg would break if it hit one of the flat sides. The capsule is a cube that is made out of the tongue depressors and I used most of the yarn for the big cage and I used the Elmer’s glue to glue the tongue depressors together. I used pieces of the paper clips to hold the popsicle sticks together with the tongue depressors and some more glue. I then made the center, which was made by two popsicle sticks that I had which formed into a triangle and I made a little railing around it with the paper clips. I then put the cotton puffs inside the triangle that was formed with the two popsicle sticks and it is used to cushion the egg while it’s falling so when it hits the floor, then it wouldn’t receive all the damage if the cage were to break and the small egg holder were to fall out of the capsule or if it were to hit the floor straight. I used the pipe cleaners to hole the egg inside the egg holder so that it doesn’t fall out of it and break. I used some glue to glue the cotton puffs to the railing that was made for the egg holder and to the two popsicle sticks.…

The Victimization Theory that would best explain why Jennifer Hawke-Petit, Hayley Petit, and Michaela Petit were chosen as victims by Joshua Komisarjevsky and Steven Hayes is the Theory of Passive Precipitation. This theory states that a victim may be unknowingly exhibiting characteristics that would provoke an attack from a criminal. In this particular case, Jennifer Hawke-Petit and her daughter, Michaela Petit, were out on a routine grocery run when they drew the attention of Joshua Komisarjevsky. He proceeded to follow the pair home and conspire with his fellow career criminal Steven Hayes to later break into their homes and commit the atrocities…

The egg in the vinegar got bigger, as the fluid moved into the egg, and the fluid level went down. This is an example of a hypertonic solution. In the distilled water the egg got slightly larger, but not as much as in the vinegar, as only a small amount of water moved into the egg; a more isotonic environment. After being in the syrup, the egg became smaller as the water moved out of the egg and into the syrup molecules. This is a hypotonic environment.…
