Big Hit Turning into Disaster
Q- Basin Technology task oriented firm that develops the Virtual Solutions for Microsoft, as channel partners. The firm is being managed through its CEO John, Project Manager “Derrick” and programmer “James”. Derrick manages all business development projects and James works under him.
Microsoft aims for development of ‘banking software solutions’ and gives project to Q-Basin vis a vie Derrick manages the show and coordinates with Marketing head of Microsoft Lucy for demo, Lucy appreciates Derrick work and agrees for online virtual demonstration to other vertical business heads of Microsoft before the launch of the product.
The virtual demo was scheduled to be presented after a week. Derrick and James both worked hard and hoped an excellent business offer after the successful presentation, but just two days before the final demo James asked for leave to attend some family business and the leave for the same was sanctioned by CEO John without any prior knowledge of Derrick, and when Derrick came to know about James leaving his desk he called on John and asked about James his replacement as James was managing the technical show. Since only a couple of days were left for final presentation and in the meantime any changes whatsoever was thought to be fatal James was contacted upon which he informed Derrick that he would be back on the day of the demo.
On the final day of demo James arrived an hour before the demo and demo started at scheduled time but due to lack of proper coordination and practice suffered technical failure and virtual demo turned out to be a disaster instead of a big hit. Lucy and other business heads of Microsoft though appreciated the concept but were not happy about the outcome of the
