Situation description
As a result of the heavy snowfall this week and due to a serious problem of non-delivery of parts, the Company General Management has decided that next Friday the company will be closed and will not be working. Said non-working day will be deducted from the extra vacation days, as negotiated for these cases in the Collective Agreement currently in force. To this end, it is necessary to communicate this decision within a maximum term of 24 hours to all those affected. The company workforce consists of a total of 900 people working in three shifts. It is very important to achieve the objective (Communication to all persons affected by the decision) within the term indicated, which is the legally established minimum, with the purpose of avoiding future lawsuits. Set out the appropriate communication process to achieve the objective within the term indicated.

Solution
There are various ways to resolve this case, but it is advisable to make previous considerations before contributing the most effective solution. These considerations may serve to establish the quality of the solutions proposed: • • • • • • • The aim that ALL THE WORKERS MUST BE INFORMED must be achieved. The workforce must be informed within the stated term. It is a legal imperative. As the subject concerns the general organisation of the company, it is important that transmission should be by the hierarchic route. For the same reason and since there is time to do so, said notification should take place in the workplace. The workers’ representatives must be informed as swiftly as possible. The Legal Adviser, who has surely taken part in the company decision, must ensure that the transmission to all the employees is reliable and uniform. As the Hierarchic Line must participate, it is necessary to facilitate the task, drafting a written support. It also assures uniformity in the transmission.
PROCESS: 1. Drafting of a, clear, concise explanatory note explaining the problem, the decision taken and who makes the decision. 2. Photocopies made for all the workers. The information process is also decided, chosen with the participation of the whole Hierarchic Line and validated by the Management Committee. 3. Information for the workers’ representatives on the decision and the process that is to be followed. 4. Each member of the Management Committee assembles their team in 10 minutes, explains the note and gives them a sheet ordering their assistants to do exactly the same with their respective teams, at the work station and until all the workers are informed within the term stipulated.
5. The final result will be that all have been informed by their Superior, with the same explanatory script (written note) and with an identical written support. There would be more than enough time to reach the three working shifts.

Obviously, that we have to use more than one of the ways of communication and styles of leadership. Firstly, to inform your staff you should make a special meeting for employees who will be dismissed with the management team as soon as possible. Also you should do A special bulletin with the reasons of dismiss, because employees will have much questions. This bulletin should be signed by Carl Weymouth, Chairman of the Board. Moreover I suppose that managers should use many psychological ways for informing and help employees to find new job or to give them the best recommendations. Furthermore this group of employees should be informed about previous measures for reducing costs. And to make a personal (individual) consultation with employees who need in it.…

“Fundamental and vital to all health care managerial functions, communication is a means of transmitting information and making oneself understood by others” (Borkowski, 2015, P. 79). It is clear that communication is a major issue in this case. Performance of an employee depends on his or her ability to effectively interact with the superiors, co-workers within the organization. Interpersonal skill is therefore an important aspect of communication. It can be defined as the “process whereby the individual implements a set of goal-directed, inter-related situationally appropriate social behavior which are learned and controlled” (Berry, 2006, p. 13). There was a very poor impersonal communication between Lawanda and her co-worker in the ICU.…

Due to the natural course of dementia commonly patients are diagnosed with behavioural and psychological symptoms (BPSD). Whereby their behaviours show strong correlation with the degree of functional and cognitive impairment such as agitation, irritability, depression, anxiety and sleep or appetite changes (Cerejeria, Lagarto & Mukaetova-Ladinska, 2012). Patricia had shown signs of agitation and restlessness once being administered into hospital and it is important that we prevent and minimise her BPSD through key management principles. In order to minimise the progression of BPSD it requires an approach that includes psychiatric symptoms, management of Patricia’s physical wellbeing and environmental factors (Tanaka et al., 2015). For instance, reality orientation allows Patricia to familiarise herself with her surrounds and situations. This is important as often people with dementia have difficulties in adapting to their environment which in return the environment has to adapt to them. BSPD can be prevented if we provide verbal prompts, reminders, explanations, visual cues and repetition of information (Edberg, Moyle & Chan, 2012). An approach can involve making proper…

Scenario 1: Rashad’s first response was passive, but his final response was passive-aggressive. Definition of passive-aggressive: “being, marked by, or displaying behavior characterized by the expression of negative feelings, resentment, and aggression in an unassertive passive way (as through procrastination and stubbornness)” (www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/passive-aggressive). Rashad is displaying classic passive-aggressive behavior. He was totally correct to be proactive and anticipate the needs of the patient. This confrontation might have been avoided if Rashad had collaborated with the RN to coordinate the care of the patient. Rashad has been humiliated by the RN publically and is now devising ways to get her back for yelling at him. After the meeting was over Rashad could have asked either for a meeting with a direct supervisor who more than likely was present at the team meeting. Maybe having a third party would help to clear the air. Another option is that he could have taken that nurse aside and simply stated that she had not only humiliated him in front of their peers, but yelled at him publically causing a great deal of embarrassment. Rashad felt as though he better not say anything because he is worried that he might lose his job, He needs to feel that there is a good solution to the issue, otherwise he will continue to have passive-aggressive thoughts. The RN in the scenario is displaying very aggressive behavior toward Rashad.…

For the first exercise I will choose a research paper myself and a team member had written for previous class. The Topic of the research paper was “Lotus rental car” the research topic was chosen from a list of topics assigned to us. The sources we used for the research were simple, credible, reliable, and found/gathered throughout use of research on the Internet. We found good information to back up our thesis and referenced it accordingly. The basis of the thesis was simple: ecofriendly cars will help improve Lotus rental car revenue as they are more fuel efficient. My team member found information to support how money could be saved by using fuel friendly vehicles, and I found information to show how current combustion engines were wasteful and more costly and, we simply put it together. We essentially split the organization of the project in half. I believe the result came out quite well, we did not have a method to organize, and my team and I just put it together and turned it in and were pleased with the final grade. I could not say I would change the approach as it was one of the first research papers I had written, and I was pleased with the final grade and result I received from doing the assignment. Perhaps there is one thing I would change and that would be to find more sources to add to back up my thesis. It was a learning experience and I will perfect my skills in researching and writing gradually.…
