General Purpose: To inform my audience about child abuse.
Specific Purpose: After my speech my audience will understand the different forms of child abuse and how to prevent this to happen.
Thesis (Central Idea): Child abuse can be a harmful situation but us as a community we can prevent this to keep happening.
INTRODUCTION:
Attention Getter: “Bruises fade but the pain last forever”.
Orientation: Child abuse happens when an adult mistreats or neglects a child.
Thesis (Central Idea): We can prevent child abuse if we speak up
Transition: Every day, about four children died in the united states from child abuse.
BODY:
I. Physical abuse
A. It means physical harm on a child’s body for example 1. hitting, biting a child, shaking, etc
B. We can help by: 1. looking for injuries and ask what happen 2. 28% of children are been physical abuse Transition: “It hurts when you fall down the stairs but they are used to it by now, their pain is inside.” II. Emotional abuse
A. Includes other act that can harm a child’s sense of worth
B. It can harm a self- confidence when adult insults and reject them often
Transition: Emotional abuse can lead to suicide III. Sexual abuse and neglect
A. Sexual abuse happens when an adult uses a child for sexual activities it can also mean to expose them to sexual activity or behavior.
B. Neglect means not to giving a child what they need to develop.
C. Also, a failure to provide for the child emotional needs such as affection, attention and supervision.
Transition: Can you imagine your parents not giving you food clothes, hygiene, care or an education? You could die because of this. CONCLUSION:
