Christopher Easterling Case Study Psychology
Christopher Easterling is a 17 year old male with history of schizophrenia who was admitted last month to our psych unit for psychosis and aggression. He known to have T wave inversion in the inferior leads. However, upon admission his EKG showed new T wave inversion in the anterior leads concerning for ischemia. His troponin was negative. Drug abuse includes Marijuana detected on urine tox. We believe his new ECG changes could be related to marijuana abuse which has been reported to be associated with ECG findings suggestive of coronary ischemia. Moreover, marijuana possible interactions with psychiatric medications may also cause ECG abnormalities. His EKG today showed resolution of previously noted T wave inversion in the anterior leads.
