Civil Liberties Against Government

1. Civil liberties are individual legal and constitutional protections against the government. Civil liberties are explicitly states in the Bill of Rights, which are the first ten amendments in the Constitution. Disputes over civil liberties often end up in court and sometimes the Supreme Court that is the final interpreter of content and scope of our liberties. Civil liberties are the legal constitutional protections against government. The courts, police, and legislatures all define their meaning of certain civil liberties. An example of a civil liberty is the freedom of religion, speech, assembly, and to petition. Other civil liberties are the right to bear arms and the right to a jury. All of these civil liberties cannot be taken advantage of and are guaranteed by the constitution. Civil Liberties are like the CUSD code of ethics because it is explicitly stated in there what students can and cannot do.
2. The Bill of Rights are the first ten amendments to the U.S. Constitution that define basic liberties ensured to American citizens. Some of these liberties include freedom of religion, speech, press, and guarantee defendant’s rights. These rights are now known as civil liberties. Individual participation and the expression of ideas are crucial components of democracy. The United States has done a good job in protecting the rights of diverse interests to express themselves. These rights protect all Americans, but they also make it more difficult to punish criminals. Civil Liberties in America are both the foundation for and a reflection of our emphasis or individualism. Rights all protect Americans as football players get protected by the NFL and makes sure that it protects all of their
