Abstract
The discussion is based on my personal beliefs, values, life experiences, and cultural background. Cognitive behavioral therapy will be discussed and why I chose to elaborate on the ways it help clients in counseling sessions. Goals, strengths, limitations, and approaches will be discussed in the paper. This theory is very effective and I was able to see it first hand.
Personal Beliefs I believe that in order to be great at a specific task it takes a lot of training and experience. I have been working in the healthcare industry for over 10 years and continue to seek continued improvement. Changes happen daily and the more knowledge that I have the better I will be at my career. I also have a huge desire to help people. It makes me feel great to know that I have influenced people in a positive manner. My belief system has made me more aware to treat others like I would want them to treat me. I believe that everything happens for a reason. I believe in God and my faith in him is what keeps me going. That is why I believe that I can do anything that I put my mind to do. As a child, I have learned my beliefs from what my parents have taught me. For example, I believe that people shouldn’t live together before marriage. My parents have taught be me that this is wrong. I have noticed that my beliefs came from my parents and my life experience. Personal Values My values include being happy, healthy, strong, dedicated, and determined. I am so happy to know that having these values will help improve my life. I have so many positive people in my circle that share the same values. I believe if you don’t stand for something, than you will fall for anything. Having goals and values are very important in life. The values that are also important are dependability, discipline, experience and being effective. I teach my children to have great beliefs and values to keep them grounded. There is so much peer
