College Admissions Essay: My Life As A Student Council
4. In my short life I have gone through many struggles. As a child my family life was not always great, and I have had to deal with poverty and hard times throughout my life, even now. But, there have always been people there to help me through those times, and that is what I want to do with my life. I am passionate about serving my community and giving back. I know how hard life can get when you are not living in the best conditions and in constant stress. Having to grow up too fast can be difficult, and I want to help kids like me and others struggling, through this process. I want to be able to provide as much support and maybe even guidance, as much as I possibly can. I’m proud of my roots and where I came from and I’m glad they made me …show more content…
The main reason I want to be in this class is because it gives me a great opportunity to engage with the student body, unlike other clubs. Student Council has put on some of the best events our school has seen, and I want to be apart of that. Seeing the look of amazement when people walk through tunnel at semi-formal, the amusement when we put on our half-time show, it is worth putting in the hard work. I believe I would be a great asset to this council because I am a calm, and level-headed person. I would be able to keep my cool whenever we are put into a high stress situation. I am also a team-player and I’m great at compromising and finding the best solution that benefits everybody. One of my favorite activities to do is paint, I love working on art and I’m good at paying attention to detail. I would give my all to make sure all our backdrops, props, banners, and posters look great as they do …show more content…
Someone I really look up to as one of our nation's greatest leader is Michelle Obama. She is an inspiration to me as a woman, and woman of color. She is one of the very few first ladies that our country has had, that actually helped out our nation. She encouraged our youth to be healthier and implemented many programs to promote a healthy lifestyle. Michelle Obama has also lead many young women like myself, to believe in themselves and work hard to achieve their goals. I strive to be like her, although I probably won’t be a Harvard and Princeton graduate like she was, I want to follow in her footsteps. She has used her role to promote overall goodness in the world, she is the best first lady our nation has had. I want to someday be able to lead a movement in something I really believe in, just like she has. If I can even be half the leader she is, and has been to our country, I can say I did something with my

A leader is someone who inspires people, who can be clutch as a forerunner to get started on a way of thinking; or sometimes a leader is the fearless one who steps in a place no one has dared to and when they do, they do so without remorse. A leader doesn’t look back at what has passed, but instead looks ahead at what’s to come. A leader is honest, caring and has integrity. A leader confronts challenges and does not let the voice of haters or malicious people bring them down. A great leader, not just a leader can do all of these things and when they are pushed down they can get back up and keep going like no one has touched them. A leader, who fits this description in my eyes, is Sarah Palin.…

I had a really terrible memory when I was young, which was about a car accident. In the summer of 1995, I was 7 years old at that time,I was playing with my friends in the garden which was near my house. Suddenly, a friend of mine started fighting with a big guy. I didn’t know what happen, I was too young and so scared, the only thing I thought was to find his parents to go for help. So a girl and I decided to run to his home. The little girl was in front of me when we were crossing the road, and we didn’t realize a car was coming. The driver saw the girl first, so he turned right to avoid hitting her, but he didn’t know that there was another child coming out.…

When most people think of character they often associate it with the idea of having to do the right thing. I on the other hand believe character is more than just doing what is morally righteous. Our experiences, obstacles and most importantly, passion define our true character. Passion establishes the difference between obligation or choice and giving up or persevering. Our actions result from the passion we choose to dedicate towards different aspects of our lives including school, work, extracurricular activities and community service. Everyone values these aspects differently and that is what allows for each of us to have our own unique character. I believe people have a more powerful influence when they have a true sense of passion for what they are doing.…

A.S.B. was an amazing class for me last year and I hope to be in it again. I would represent my Junior class in a positive way. It would be fun helping get kids involved in school activities. I would love to help with the school dances and assemblies because I am very creative. I think students should feel like school is there home away from home. Getting them involved and picking them for activities would give them a much better outlook and a good attitude towards school. I love getting decked out for spirit days so I would encourage other people to dress up with me! Leading in an enthusiastic way I will do the tasks at hand and get the work done, while being an example to others. I have a natural ability to improvise and adapt to every situation. I’ve had much experience like working a summer job at my Dads chemical company. In the office I helped work the phones for customer service. I also helped organize the company’s promotional events. To accomplish goals you must always respect others, work hard and get the job done; that’s what I think A.S.B. is all about. I’m up for anything, and available for whatever I’m needed to do. My family completely supports me as a leader and encourages any and all involvement that I am called to do. I am very energetic and enthusiastic about things and have many ideas. Also I’m very artistic and love to draw. I think one of my strengths is my creative mind. Being kind of a perfectionist is probably one of my strengths and one of my weaknesses. Sometimes I want to take my time to make everything right. Some things I could bring to A.S.B. are a fresh outlook, hard work and mainly new ideas. Maybe we could do some kind of marathon that went on the whole night till the morning; I think kids would have so much fun and we could still raise money. Otherwise I think A.S.B. is a great program and that’s why I’m running and would love to be in it again. I loved it last year and am hoping to…

I am a graduate from Glen Oaks Community College and I would love to continue my education with Glen Oaks and their Nursing Program. I am a very athletic person, therefore in my free time my activities include running, playing sports, coaching and being involved with my family. Working two jobs, one being a Nursing Assistant and Unit Technician at The Community Health Center of Branch County and the other doing in home care for an elderly patient, does make it difficult to find free time. With what little free time I do have I enjoy spending it with my family as they are very important to me. I try to make it a routine to visit with my grandmas to have lunch with them and to drive them around where ever is needed due to the fact that they both cannot drive. I am currently training to run a marathon in May. During softball season, I volunteer with the coaching staff at the Coldwater High School. My greatest satisfaction so far in life, is the fact that I am one of few to have graduated from a college with a degree within my family. I am proud to say that I have paid for me education with my hard work. I hope with the help of Glen Oaks Community College I can obtain a new satisfaction of becoming a nurse. It would be my dream come true.…

The single most impactful experience in my life is attending Ventura Community College. Nothing has hurt me more. In high school I had taken AP and IB classes and had finished within the top ten percent of my class but I had no idea what I wanted to do. I applied to some schools that I considered to be mediocre so that I could continue swimming, but as the application deadlines ended and most of my friends were being accepted to places such as UCLA, UCSB, and even Harvard, I had realized that I wanted a greater challenge and possibly a greater reward. It was too late, I was going to community college.…

There have been roadblocks and setbacks, but it doesn’t matter, I crave learning and do so with fortitude.…

I was born to dreamers, fed with the diversity found on the streets of Chinatown and Little India, and guided by the calloused sun stained hands of my immigrant father. With achiote and morro running through my veins I was raised to overcome the extensive barriers that were set way before my time.To prove to society that I am more than what the media spoon feeds the rest of world to ought to believe of what latinas are supposed to be.
