College Admissions Essay: The Last 30 Years Of My Life
As the wise and charismatic Ferris Bueller once said, “Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in awhile, you could miss it.” Right now I am making many choices that could influence my life forever. That is a lot for an 17-year-old to take on. However, In 30 years I will most likely be in the same boat as my parents. I’ll probably be trying to send my children through college, and making sure they have everything they need to make it in the world. However, what about my life then? Will I consider my life successful? The truth is, no one really knows where we are going, but I do know that I have an eventful future ahead.
In order for me to see my life as successful in the future, I would have to accomplish some of my main goals.

I want to be a college graduate, a nurse practitioner specializing in pediatric oncology, a youth minister, and a wife and mother. I have many goals, and I believe that if I have accomplished half of those goals in 30 years, I will consider my life successful. I have felt a calling towards helping those who need it, and I hope in 30 years I will continue to chase my dreams of showing people all around the world care and compassion. I am a firm believer in Jesus Christ, and I do believe that God has given me a heart to serve others. That’s why I am constantly working towards my goals in my education and future profession. My biggest goal other than becoming a nurse practitioner would be participating in mission trips and practicing nursing while on those trips. I want to travel to poor countries, like Haiti and Rwanda, and provide them with proper medical care. I believe that if in 30 years, I have helped others whether in the United States or in other countries, I have accomplished my goals as a successful nurse and

A personal goal of mine involves visiting every country to witness the different cultures and atmospheres. Being in a different country that is completely opposite from my norm makes me appreciate the world God created. Most people only appreciate the things they are willing to see, but with traveling it forces you to appreciate the little things people around the world do not have. A strategy to obtain this goal leads me to my professional goal. Once I have completed all my schooling, I plan on becoming a missionary Nurse Practitioner. In my eyes, I am including the two things I love most, traveling and helping people. My strategy to achieve these two goals is simple, never stop learning and always push yourself. After visiting 4 different countries and talking to the right people, I have connections all over the world for work. The only thing to do now is complete my schooling. The timeline I have created is a straightforward 5 to 10 year plan. Within 5 years, I should be working as a RN while getting my masters on becoming a NP. In 10 years, I plan on living in a different country as a missionary NP while also having the chance to visit a wide variety of countries. The only thing that is not included in my timeline would be a family. I wish not to plan about my future family because God’s timing is always perfect and he will bring them to me when it is right. Many people believe these goals are unrealistic, but I believe these goals can only get bigger as long as I have God by my…

To whom it concerns I sit here and can’t help but to think about the many things that I strive to accomplish in my lifetime. Such thoughts as how and where this life is going to take me enter my mind. I believe it is absolutely essential for one to maintain a constant level of productivity in order to for life to run its intended course. For me this productivity will be achieved only through a series of well defined goals. For organizational purposes, I have correlated the goals I expect to fulfill into seven primary categories which are: education and career, health, spirituality, family, productivity, adventure, and material things. Although these goals will server their purpose as a type of road map of which path I should follow, true happiness is found in the spontaneity along the way. I personally believe a well developed education should come first that’s why I signed up for Excel High to get my diploma. It serves as a foundation for almost everything that one will experience in life. My more immediate goals are those that pertain to my education weather formal or informal. Although I am still in the process of building my life, my one goal is to get an associate degree in Business management a start a clothing store with my older sister who has a fashion degree from State University of New York at Canton. I vividly remember thinking I was a genius. I remember thinking that everyone knew that the three main parts of undergraduate admissions are your school work, extracurricular activities, and standardized test. I remember making the conscious decision to not take anything meaningful from my high school education. Although I would still take AP classes and be active in class, I never studied; I thought in the back of my mind that because my standardized tests and extracurricular activities are “so good,” I would not have to worry about school.…

My eyes felt heavy and dry from staring at my phone for so long. I know I should have been studying for my science test, but I procrastinated, so I continued to keep my dazed eyes glued to the bright screen. When I rarely looked up from my phone, I noticed that day was withering away, as it was becoming more and more deep into the night, with the sun replaced by the moon in the star-filled sky. After just simply turning my neck to my window, I felt stiff from staying in the same position, being too lazy to get up out of my comfortable fuzzy chair. At this point, I knew I had to start studying, but instead I kept playing Candy Crush. My mom always told me to put down my phone, but I never listened..…

In my Character Education class, our teacher started talking about how much our future should mean to us and how having a mission in your life makes all the difference and helps you focus on what you want. So I made a mission statement of my own to share with you what it is I want in life: "Remember, your heart is a muscle the size of your fist. So keep loving, keep fighting"-Mates of State. Humans are here to experience change and that's exactly what I want in life for me, and for the world too. God sent us to be the change we want in ourselves.
