Although I may not always be doing great academically because I get sick often due to diabetes and miss a lot of schools I always do my best to be on time when I go in, study hard, make up my work, and pay close attention. One of my greatest …show more content…
accomplishments is passing my math regents since math is a difficult subject for me. I haven't been able to do many clubs aside from art club but I did participate in Girl Scouts from elementary school to my junior year in high school and later in my junior year volunteered to help the Girl Scouts.
When I was about 10 years old my cousin was in the backyard crying. I gave her a hug and started singing a song that I seem to have in my head that I felt might make her feel better ,my first original song. It began with "So many stars in the sky so why does this one cry because the sun went away don't cry you'll be ok another sun will come another day you're too beautiful to original to have tears on your face" and continued. It made her smile and it made me realize that I truly enjoyed making people feel better. I continue to write and even received an award for it in elementary school. Music has always Impacted my life.
I would consider myself a very creative young lady.
I enjoy finding solutions to problems. I would like to major in Social Work. When I am stable enough I would like to open a Girls Home for runaway or Foster care girls from the ages 15-18 to help these girls continue school, with their self-esteem, and look for jobs while giving them a safe environment. I would like to build a big house so each girl could have their own room and make it similar to a sorority. I knew I wanted to do this when I met a girl named Gabby who was my roommate when I was in the hospital she was in the hospital due to the fact she had been cutting herself and attempted suicide several times. Gabby and I grew close and one night she was in her bed crying. I asked her what was wrong. She said that she didn't want to talk about it but I told her the longer you keep it in the more it is going to eat you up inside. Later that night she told me that she was walking to school and saw a little boy on the floor crying she went to help him and a man came out of nowhere and pushed her in the bushes and raped her. She said she had never told anyone and I convinced her to tell her parents so that she would be able to move on with her life. She finally did and was released from the hospital. Since then I've spoken to Gabby a few times and she is now applying to college like
me.
Traveling has not only allowed me to be an open person but also to be aware of the millions of people that need comfort and support.Every day I learn more and I grow as a person and my only hope is that the person I become will help people see the beauty in life.
