Baking for someone else is something that makes me feel like I am using my creative and generous nature. Honing my imaginative and skilled technique is my reward although making someone happy with my baked goods is what I set out to do. Likewise, science is a subject that allows me to use trial and error with my problem solving skills to pursue my dream of becoming a Physicians Assistant. For me, baking and science are driven by my enthusiasm; I am passionate to see another person’s expression knowing they enjoyed my recipe but I also dream to see smiles on my patient’s faces. I spend significant time making the best possible recipe for an event. I pick ingredients and change or substitute separate items to make the recipe better. It takes patience, persistence and curiosity to become an accomplished baker or scientist. I am not a well-known baker or scientist but I enjoy the dedication and hard work of both pursuits. Sometimes I come across a nauseating recipe or science lab and it unfortunately ends up down the sink. But with mistakes, I learn new ingredients and methods devising an original way to make most recipes and experiments successful. The committed effort lures me to keep baking better recipes but additionally trains me to be dedicated to academics with the same intensity. One of the benefits I have acquired during times of impatience, restlessness or anxiety is that baking is my strategy to reduce stress. I get so much relief when I bake; the stress of exams, the crunch of time and social relationships seem to balance each other out.
