What personal responsibility means to you:
The relationship between personal responsibility and college success is a very fine line to walk.
One has to approach school as an added duty in one’s life. I must add an extra responsibility to my daily chores and activities. I am venturing into an activity I have not done any schooling for over 30 plus years now. School is something I must learn all over again. This changes our everyday routines to a point that we all must learn to work well with this new education. I am glad that in the past I had learned great tools to work with while working on these new responsibilities. Making it great while I was getting my A.S. degree in Florida Tech College out of Orlando, FL. Back then everything was paper and pencil or pen. Now I see an all new era of schooling and especially online. I force myself to get things done early, just like I do when I need to be somewhere for an appointment. I arrive much earlier than requested so I have time to sit and plan what will be going on at this appointment. I turn that into the same here with my online class. I don't like to be late for anything even dinner at home. Work on my college activities and required assignments take on the same aspect that I apply to my personal life. Both must be taken on with kid gloves. But as long as I keep in mind the goals created for school and stick to them I should have no trouble working out any obstacles that come my …show more content…
way. One has to learn quickly on the right approach to swing your family and education. I have found that your family is a great source of learned techniques while education is a building source of knowledge. One must keep in mind as you advance in your education you take away from your family time so make all your time count. Your education is similar in the way that as you learn a new thing you must keep a close attention to each new item. You must start a new time management schedule for both to work. Writing down all requirements of the school and everything from the family will give you a clear picture on how this schedule will look each day. After a while these tasks will be second nature to you. You will be able to fly through both and not look back. As I move each day, I find myself happier and wiser. I make myself happy and all involved.
To plan to practice a relationship in my education can take on higher responsibilities as you go along. Understand making this big step in life will dictate your future in society and family. Since I was in school in the 1980’s things have changed considerably. Now I have to tackle a new online form of school and get used to its new demands. I have gotten myself a personal organizer so I can write down all my school and personal requirement needed to be done on a daily basis. This shows me how I am using my time and these shows me what time I have still available. If I find myself trading this time slot for another things may get out of hand. I can’t spare wasting my time since time continues to move forward as I slip back and loose more time. Procrastination is a bad evil in this personal responsibility of keeping a well-rounded and manageable time. It can only hurt me in the long run. You can sit and wonder if this or that, but when you have a good plan and make it work for you it is hard to fail.
The most important reason the relationship between personal responsibility and college success is in the planning to practice my personal responsibility is for two main reasons.
First, plan to practice the relationship in my education. I must approach my experience with the online classes with kid gloves. I have found I can really mess things up online if I don’t read everything before moving on to the next item. I have to learn the best way to do school work that makes online classes a breeze. My relationship in this education will determine my outcome and I plan to make the best score I possibly can. Anything less will not be good enough for me. I know that there are things due on certain dates, but if I can work on them before and have them finished properly early will allow me to go back and check on it with time to spare. Secondly, most importantly, my personal responsibility will not change just because I am going to school. All I can do it to make sure the people involved in my personal life knows what to expect from me with my added responsibility with my education. As my personal life is in auto pilot, so should my education life be. Responsibility is the key to basic life skills. While I grew up I had learned these skills the hard way. Reading more about these skills has refreshed my memory to some new and or old ideas. Most what you read is redundant and can be put aside while the important facts are put in
place.
In conclusion, continue to plan and setup responsible and reasonable goals to be reached for both your personal and education as I go. Having this entire in mind I have only good coming from this move in education and to be able to make the most of it while it lasts. My personal life can only prosper and improve. Keeping a straight mind and all my responsibilities in order, one can count on success. Being successful is important to me as an elder gentleman in my 50s. I must weigh out the pros and cons from this whole ordeal and remember making better in my education will reflect on my making better in my personal life. It will be an interesting chain of events in my near future, but as long as I look toward my medium to long term goals it will all be for the best.
