Comparison-Contrast Essay

Today I’m comparing two forms of the same inspirational story about a young girl in the harsh times when Jews were not welcome. It was a time when Jews were scared to walk outside. And they were lucky to wake up everyday without being harmed by the cruel acts that the Nazi’s did to a very peaceful religion for no reason. Her name was Annie Frank.

Anne loves to think and remember that there is still good around her, she thinks that thinking about the leftover beauty is much more pleasing then thinking about the negative that is in the world she is living. Film- Anne explains she believes that, putting everything else beside; people are till “really good at heart”. Multimedia exhibit

Anne explains the current viewings of her mother, father, Mr. and Mrs. Van Daan, and Mr. Dussel on what they think about the situation that they are in now. Mrs. Van Daan tells of her being the "queen of the kitchen" and believes war has gone through little progress. Smoking makes things seem less worse for Mr. Van Daan. Mrs. Frank is so hungry and says the war is progressing. Mr. Frank is optimistic about the politics going on and just wants to take it easy. Finally, Mr. Dussel is in agreement with Mr. Frank and is anal about what he needs to get finished.

During World War II, the Franks and the Van Daans were hiding in a small area of two to three rooms, with a single window, in the attic of an office building in Amsterdam. In her diary, Anne refers to it as the "secret annex." For two years, these close quarters serve as a shelter and protection for the families against the Nazi enemy. While in hiding, problems and the characters' true natures evolved, revealing their differing personalities and value systems. Anne Frank, a young Jewish girl who writes a diary of her experiences during World War II, tells about the major characters in the play. The two characters that I chose to compare were Otto Frank, Anne's father and the only survivor of the group hiding, and Mr. Van Daan, Otto Frank's Jewish associate.…

Anne Frank is someone who influenced history long after she was gone, because of her courage, bravery, and willpower that got here and her family through the tough times up until they were seized. Though Anne died at age fifteen in one of the camps, we still see her today as such an accepting human being throughout her life. In one of her very last entries Anne stated, “In spite of everything, I still believe that people are really good at heart.” This entry proves her beliefs beyond measure that all humans are good people and mean for the best in their own lives. This statement alone expresses everything people need to know about Anne and who she was as a person this shows a maturity level way beyond her years as a young girl of only thirteen…

Anne writes about the changes she begins seeing in herself. On Saturday, March 25, 1944, Anne wrote “You never realize how much you have changed until after it’s happened. I have changed quite drastically, everything about me is different: my opinions, ideas, critical outlook. Inwardly, outwardly, nothing is the same. And, I might safely add, since It is true, I have changed for the better” (234). Here, Anne indicates that change can be a good thing. Often people see change as a negative, but Anne deals with it in a positive manner. Although everything going on around her seems to be going downhill, Anne finds the courage to change herself for the better. Anne Frank was always accountable for herself and her actions. On Saturday, July 15, 1944, Anne said “I have a great deal of self-knowledge. In everything I do, I can watch myself as if I were a stranger. I can stand across from the everyday Anne and, without being biased or making excuses, watch what she is doing, both the good and the bad. This self-awareness never leaves me, and every time I open my mouth, I think ‘you should have said that differently’ or ‘that is fine the way it is’ (325). Anne Frank never made excuses or blamed other people for her problems or actions. She took responsibility for her faults and made a vow to change them. Anne’s questioning herself is a method of self-evaluation, which serves, once again, to make herself a better person.…

She is an orphan girl with a big imagination and constantly lets her daydreams get in the way of her chores. On one occasion she forgot all about covering the plum pudding sauce because she was imagining she was a nun, which caused a mouse to drown in it. On another occasion, she pretended to be a Lily Maid and “enjoyed the romance of her situation to the full. Then something happened not at all romantic,” she nearly drowned in the pond (Mongomery 223). Anne tries to be sensible in order to please Marilla, but no matter how hard she tries, trouble is always lurking around the corner. She does however, claim that she never makes the same mistake twice. The film is able to convey Anne’s passion and enthusiasm towards life, even when she gets herself in a rut, but through all of her mistakes, she transitions from a careless child, to a young sensible woman who will sacrifice anything for her family.…
