Evolutionism: Near to the Fact
Do you believe in God? Most of christians trust that God created everything even human being. There is a bible which contains God’s story, and they believe the bible. On the other hand, we can see in some biology textbooks, they mention that humans were created through evolution. Evolutionism and creationism have long been controversial in the world. The reason that they are controversy is that both of them have evidences and weaknesses, and both of them haven’t proved yet, therefore, evolutionism and creationism are just beliefs. For the definition of each hypotheses, evolutionism claims that human was made from evolution through natural selection, …show more content…
on the other side, a hypothesis that asserts human was formed by God is creationism. In my personal opinion, believing in evolutionism is feasible to me, because there are several scientific evidences to prove it enoughly and creationism doesn’t have them not enough that makes me difficult to believe.
Firstly, there are various scientific evidences on the evolutionism. Evolutionism was supported by Charles Darwin for the first time in 1859.
He was a naturalist and biologist known for his theory of evolution and the process of natural selection. In 1831 he began a five-year voyage around the world on the ship, Beagle to find out evidences of evolutionism. During the five year voyage, he went to the Galapagos Islands that located in Pacific Ocean. The thing that he surprised was that each island had different shapes on the tuttles’ shells, and each island had birds that had different shapes their beaks. The reason that they were slightly different is to adapt their environment. Each islands had their own environment, therefore, the birds and turtles evolved for their surviving through adaptation (Darwin, Charles. the Origin of Species, 1859.) For the another example, arctic foxes cannot live at desert, because they have small ears that help keep their body warm, on the other side, fennec foxes cannot stay in cold-weather area, since their ears help reducing their heat. It calls natural selection that Charles Darwin claimed. Charles Darwin asserted that humans evolved same as the birds in Galapagos Islands, and there are fossil records to prove the evolution. Through the fossil records, human evolution is proven by …show more content…
human skull. Human evolved from Australopithecus and Homo habilis to the present humans. (Campbell, Bernard. Human Evolution: An Introduction to Man's Adaptations.) They were the pre-evolved human, and they look like human with two hands, two legs, and everything else that present human has. Some of critics who don’t trust evolution said that why all humans are not different unlike the birds and turtles in the Islands. Alfred Lothar Wegener who asserted that the Earth’s continent was the only one, even though there are six continents in these days. (Wegener, Alfred. Science, Exploration, and the Theory of Continental Drift.). With his assertion, he actually proved the evidence for his hypothesis, and the assertion called as continental drift. When we see six of continents which are North America, South America, Asia, Europe, Africa, and Australia, we can fit them together into one continent like a puzzle. Especially, North America’s east coast and Africa west coast which are suitable each other have similar land shape and geological structure. (Hallam, Anthony. Continental Drift and the Fossil Record.). Another evidence for continental drift is that same fossils were discovered at suitable sides of the continents. The one unite continent was separated into six because of Earth’s natural geological phenomenon which is collision with mantels and crusts (Nield, Ted. Supercontinent: 10 Billion Years In The Life Of Our Planet.). Through those enough and biological evidences, most of people have thought that evolutionism is nearer to fact than creationism.
Secondly, lack of evidences and incredible hypothesis contain in creationism.
As I mentioned before, hypothesis that God made creatures is creationism. If God actually made the existed things, there weren’t any creatures before God made them. However, in the period of Old Stone Age, which is the period lasted roughly 3.4 million years, there were humans and creatures such as dinosaurs (Fairfield Osborn, Henry. Men of the Old Stone Age: Their Environment, Life and Art). A lot of fossil record at the period was discovered, and the fossil records proved that there were creatures existed. Likewise, especially in civilization of ancient Egypt, structures, murals, and ruins were built before the God existed (A. Lucas,J. Harris. Ancient Egyptian Materials and Industries.). Those things could not be built without human being, and that means there were creatures a long time ago. Also, people who believe in creationism, they trust the bible said all truths. In the bible, there is a content that God revived after God died (Zondervan, New International Version. 1984.). As we already know, revival cannot be happened and proved. If God can revive, God is existed in our society, too. Furthermore, there is a lot of impossible thing in the story of Noah’s Ark. According to bible, Noah was a person who was selected by God. God resolved destroy everything except Noah through flood that was controlled from God. God commanded to Noah to make an ark with his family. After he and his family made
it, God controlled flood which makes all creatures were drowned to death. Noah tried to save all animals in there onto his ark, and bible mentioned that he actually did that in a year. In this story, there are several things that don’t make sense. Number of animals that Noah had took from flood is not constant in each bibles. Also, there was only one family, and they protect thousands of animals in the ark. Some of the animals were herbivore, and it is impossible to believe that some of animals are herbivore, therefore, they need to eat their food such as vegetable for a year. Those things feel me that bible is fable, because in that period, there are no machines, or robots. Only one family needs to do everything such as feed the animals and gather all of animals (Irwin, Mary. The Unsolved Mystery of Noah's Ark.). On the other side, evidence for creationism said the ark is discovered, and it said, “It has been calculated that as many as 7,000 species could fit!” (Matt, James. Evidence of God, 42.) However, there is no scientific reason that the ark is real Noah’s Ark. It could be a fiction that anyone made. Then, some people will get a curiosity who did write the bible. Even this thing is not certain, because some of the bible are slightly different (Friedman, Richard. Who Wrote the Bible?). Through those things that make me suspect fable, and some contents cannot be possible make me incredulous.
In conclusion, both of hypothesis have each evidences and weaknesses, and it makes controversy issue even nowadays. Especially, creationism is not proved in scientific way, therefore, most of people cannot believe in creationism including me. Believing in evolutionism is feasible to me, because there are recorded scientific evidences to prove it enoughly. There is much that has not yet been verified, actually it is impossible to be verified through today’s science and technology. I want to know as soon as possible that how the human was created.
