A recent study in August of 2017 explains that the people in contact sports had different and more effective brain scans that the folks that did not play contact sports. Stated by Steven Reinberg, “The brain scans showed that people who played collision and contact sports had differences in brain structure and function compared to people who took part in non-contact sports.” (Reinberg). The people who are participating in contact sports are having different brain scans than the people who do not play contact sports. This is a negative effect, and shows that the brain for people in contact sports is more damaged in the structure and functioning than the people in non contact sports. Also this study is showing how the contact sports people have a less amount of brain activity compared to the people who do not involve themselves into contact sports. Again, stated by Steven Reinberg, “In addition, athletes in sports with higher levels of contact had signs of decreased activity in brain areas involved in vision and motor function, the researchers found.” (Reinberg). Researchers have discovered that the athletes who are playing sports with higher level contact than others will have a disadvantage with brain functions such as your vision and motor function. If the athletes were cutting out the contact part of the sport, the research shows that their brain activity …show more content…

This next study has shown by researchers shows how concussions don’t just affect your brain functions but it also shows mood swings that it can cause athletes to have which are not healthy and right moods for them. According to the Rosen Publishing Group, “Health experts have linked trauma-related brain disorders to the suicides of several retired players. Thousands of former players have sued the NFL for withholding evidence of the long-term dangers associated with concussions.” (Rosen Publishing Group). When these athletes at any age level keep having head injuries occur throughout
