Mr. Charlie Housewright
International Interior Design and Furniture, Rooming
189 The Grove Drive Way
Los Angeles, CA 90036

Dear Mr. Charlie Housewright:

My name is Hyun Jung Choi and I am writing you in regards to the internship opportunity that you have available for the Summer 2014 semester. I am currently a student at the Pratt Institute in the Interior Design Program and an active NVD member, the National Volunteer of Design. I feel that I have the knowledge and experience, due to extensive coursework, as well as the personality traits and passion for residential design to be an asset to your firm.

Residential design has been an interest of mine long time before admission into the program. This is what truly inspired me to choose this major and follow this career path. Now, after completing the second semester of the professional Phase in the Interior Design Sequence and spending the past two semesters focusing on residential design, I still feel a drive to pursue this path. The many residential projects I have completed, such as ADA Accessible Bathroom/Master Bedroom Project and a Kitchen Remodel Project, have all helped opened my eyes to the design opportunities available sand the many requirements needed to create a successful design. The enclosed resume gives further information on my skills specifically associated with the design field.

An internship within your company would be an excellent learning experience to develop my skills in the residential design filed, as well as an opportunity to receive hands-on experience with successful professionals. An opportunity to interview with you will certainly help me learn more about your company. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Respectfully,

Hyun Jung Choi

My stage-craft courses taught me how to bring my imagination to life on the sets of our school plays. My position on the yearbook staff allowed me to master Adobe InDesign and Photoshop. And lastly, the hours I have spent serving homeless, disabled, elderly, and sick people in my community have opened my eyes to the countless opportunities for growth within the environment that our population inhabits. The job of an architect can be more than one of aesthetics; an architect can assist in public concerns. By understanding the power that an architect has, I want to design hospitals that better patient experience and healing, schools that feed the creativity of students, and homes that improve happiness and…

My goal in life after college is to procure a well paying job in the field of my passion; visual design. As an artist in the visual design world, my intention is to be able to work closely with architects; not only making their own business more efficient, but also collaborating with them to find more economical solutions to the common problems that plague the architectural world, such as: energy efficiency and aesthetic appeal. Outside of my professional interests, I pride myself on being a compassionate young man; therefore, by finding a career in my field of choice, I hope to be able to innovate ways to provide a stable house and home for those who cannot provide it for themselves.…

The new book cover that I designed has a colorful carrousel in the center and New York City in the background. I these two images give a great explanation of the book and have true meaning to it. In one quote Holden says,"I was trying to feel some kind of a good-by . . . I don't care if it's a sad good-by or a bad good-by, but when I leave a place I like to know I'm leaving it. If you don't, you feel even worse.” This is how New York City is portrayed as. It’s the big city everyone knows about and when you leave there you know you are leaving. The city has a huge impact on you. You can that quote to the big city. Another quote that Holden says is, "People never notice anything.” It’s straightforward what Holden says here. No one ever notices the details in life. Just as most people don’t notice things in the big city. It is so vast and you feel like a tiny ant in it. People go through out the day walking through the city, but they never really notice anything that’s going on. I think what he means is no one is open minded anymore.…
