1.1 Identify the different reasons people communicate.
There are many reasons why people have to communicate in work settings, here are a few :-
Building relationships- When someone new joins the work setting e.g A child , parent or colleague there will be some sort of communication either a smile, wave or a hello, this is the first part of communication and the beginning of building a relationship.
Maintaining relationships- During work we are in the process of maintaining relationships, each time we say hello or goodbye we are maintaining our relationship with them
Sharing Ideas and thoughts- Adults , children and young people will all have ideas and thoughts that need sharing, by sharing these thoughts and involving them in conversation shows an important way of using communication.
1.2 Explain how communication affects relationships in the work setting.
In order to meet peoples needs it is important to create and maintain good relationships with a variety of people. Practitioners who have good communication skills are more likely to strong relationships with children, parents and colleagues. The reason for this is relationships are influenced by body language, facial expressions and also the way people listen and talk to you.
Some of the ways professional relationships and communication are important within the early years sector are :-
Settling in :- Children may find it hard settling in unless they feel comfortable with us, which means that we nee to communicate with them and build a relatinship so that the children learn to trust us.
Transitions:- There will be times when children move between schools, e.g A child moves from nursery to school. These transitions are made easier when the adults have good relationships with each other.
Effective teams :- When we work together with our colleagues it is important that our relationships are professional and
