As a leader setting the standard starts with my behavior, what I do/don’t is emulated regardless of what I want. It is my responsibility to let my work center know where I stand on any standard available, my example may be the deterrent needed in one situation or another. In the correct approach to the subordinate, at my nearest opportunity should’ve been to let him know the importance of each step listed for any job performed. Also, I should have let him know that anything less than the standard will not be tolerated. This example of informal feedback helps establish rapport, remind my subordinate that standards are present for a reason and that anything less will be corrected
