Guns are Equal to Danger, Not Safety
When we hear the word “gun”, what is the first thing that goes through our minds? Fear, bloodshed, self-defense? Guns are one of the strongest weapons that are often used for destruction, harm or death. In the other hand, many people think of them as safety and protection. It doesn’t matter in what way we think about guns because they are powerful tools, not just physically, but socially. As of today, it is very important to be warned and pay very close attention to where gun control might be directed. Yes, it seems like our government wants us to be safe and use them for protection, but why allow us to have the right to own something that can be very deadly? For example, wearing seatbelts and helmets became laws to protect our lives. Food and Drug Administration run tests to make sure that none of us are harmed in any way. Yet, the government lets about anyone to be walking around town carrying a gun without us knowing what could happen. If they truly cared about our safety, guns would have been outlawed for the general public because the purpose of gun is used to cause dangerous …show more content…
Some people may argue that owning guns can be used for self-defense, but if nobody except the police officers had them, there would have been no need for that sort of defense. If it were possible to convince the government easily to outlaw guns, all criminal rates would finally decrease, children wouldn’t would be involved with situations they don’t understand, and most importantly, our country wouldn’t be as violent as it is today. While we wait for the laws to change, people will continue to make the environment more dangerous and less
