These are the true feelings of my people or shall I say people dealing with reality. One may say “I ain’t never scared “, whatever those are the ones with the most freights. Franklin D. Roosevelt once said “The only thing we have to fear is fear itself—nameless unreasoning, unjustified terror which paralyzes needed efforts to convert retreat into advance.”
As a psychology major I have always had a passion for the feelings of others. Why you may ask? Seeing the agony of a family strengths and weakness brought me to the realization that everyone has problems that

In the American history Presidents from Roosevelt to Obama have noted or said something about fear. This is because feeling free from fear would better any country. Though we all may have it in common, the word “it” can mean a lot of different things. A struggle to speaking inspirationally about this topic is connecting everyone's fear, from the poor to the rich and those in between. Rarely is there one topic that everyone fears and this is because we are all struggling in our own ways. The rich might need to worry about where…

Byron Katie, an American author, once said, “fear is always a case of mistaken identity?”, and she, despite her aura of confidence, could not be more incorrect. Fear, which is a feeling of concerning the outcome of something or the safety of someone, is not a mistaken identity, but instead creates and destroys identities. Dr. Douglas LaBier, a psychologist, psychotherapist, and writer theorizes that fear, especially social fear, motivates everyday people to create identities that are simply shields to protect themselves, while inadvertently killing themselves. On the other hand, Dr. Raymond Lloyd Richmond, an expert in clinical psychology and a psychologist, proposes that fear exposes people for who…

Fear exists in everyone. No one lives without fear. Being fearless is not required to be courageous, one has to overcome fears in order to possess courage. Risks are involved when overcoming fears and going against the norm. Risks come in different types, risking life, risking reputations, risking limb. The greatest risk “is not taking any risk” (Mark Zuckerberg). A person must have courage to endure each particular risk. A person who is not courageous enough to take risks will “accomplish nothing in life” (Muhammad Ali). Courage happens anytime, anywhere, and any day. Courage is experienced by all; no matter how young, old, wise, or foolish. The effect of courage may not be positive, however, the outcome is remembered. The rewards have the potential to be great, but so do the…

The Gift of Fear," a psychology book by Gavin De Becker, is a great valuable book. It gives significant exhortation about acceptable behavior upon human instinct, how to perceive dangers, and characterizes what genuine trepidation is and its motivation. I find this book to be very interesting. This book gave feeling of comprehension on savagery and trepidation and I feel greatly improved arranged with regards to perceiving perilous circumstances. My favorite part of the book was the warning signs to know when an outsider is a potential risk. This was intriguing to me since I've been told since I was only a young girl to be careful with outsiders. Be that as it may, with every one of these notices about outsiders I had never been advised how to perceive when an outsider was by and large really accommodating and agreeable, or attempting to mischief me in any capacity. I found that some of the warning signs were interesting, for example, a strategy called Forced Teaming.…

Fear: the mere sight of the word makes some of us cringe. It is a feeling we have all dealt with at one time or another. Fear is the quintessential human emotion. Some people live lives devoid of joy, happiness, and pleasure, but no one escapes the experience of fear and fear’s companion, pain. We are born in fear and pain. Our lives are profoundly shaped by them, as well as our efforts to avoid them.” It is something that we first experience as children, and are conditioned to respond to in many different ways. Some of us live in constant fear; of accidents, of bad people doing us harm, or of physical ailments. Others simply take things as they come in life, whether they are good or bad things. In the dictionary, fear is defined as: "a feeling of agitation or anxiety caused by the presence or imminence of danger. That is a rather ominous definition. Fear can also refer to general anxiety, as in "fear of speaking in public or "fear of open areas . These fears arise not necessarily from a present or imminent threat, but rather a perceived threat, which to some can be just as scary. For most people fear is an unpleasant feeling and it is…

All my life I have cared about the people that I loved and knew, even strangers at times. This is just the way I was raised and how I grew up. I always wanted to be involved in a career that supported the community as well as the people in it. I researched health care and what would be required of me and I knew that a career in the health sciences was a great choice for me. I plan on becoming a pediatric nurse practitioner. I love helping individuals, I enjoy working with children, and I know for sure that I can take advantage of the opportunities that will be offered to me. I want to be a nurse practitioner due to the fact that although they are a nurse, a specialized practitioner can have the same roles that a doctor may have. Even though…

Choosing a career is a very important aspect to people 's lives. One goes to college, usually around the age of eighteen, and by the time they leave they are expected to have decided on the career that they will have for the rest of their lives. Being a psychology and interpersonal communication major, I have always had an interest on relationships between individuals given certain stimuli presented to them. I want to have the ability to touch people 's lives by helping them understand themselves and why they behave the way in which they behave. Relationships are such an important aspect to the process of human growth, and they impact each and every one of us. Due to this assessment of myself, I have decided to go to Western Michigan University to pursue my goals of being a clinical social worker.…

They might have wonderful ideas, but this fear prevents them from speaking and getting those ideas across. Some people experience fear to such an extent that they become trapped in their homes, unable to leave because of the symptoms of fear they experience. Allowing fear to make decisions for us prevents us from enjoying and experiencing life the way it can be experienced. Because of fear, some people never travel by plane, or take long car trips missing out on visiting family, friends, and events and missing out on perhaps life changing experiences because fear stops them from taking part in the…
